Would you think this person weird...?

Headless Lois, 7 August, 2009 at 16:01 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 38

If someone recognised your forum name from here, on another forum, remembered that you had had a disagreement in the past (3 + years ago) and decided to post a personal attack on that other forum? That's a leetle bit odd, isn't it?

Yes. A fun person to wind up though? More details would be spiffing.

Who have you upset Lois?! Link please!

Yes, I would find it odd. Then again, I remember things from a long time back too. Sometimes!

    More than a bit weird - I mean, that's quite a grudge.

More than a little odd, and not a bit creepy I would say. But I'm far too dull to have a stalker, so well done you on that count!

This is why I use different names on different forums. Not that I'm in the least bit interesting, but even so .. just in case!

God, there's a guy out there... He posts on very nearly every forum I post on apart from this one obviously (or did). He has views and interests almost identical to mine, comes from NI and is with the same ISP. This has led many people, in various fora to believe that we are the same person with two accounts. To be honest, I sometimes wonder if I'm not having paranoid disassociation and posting as him at times, so uncanny are the similarities. (Last one was when the Anthony Hopkins Bladerunner ad for Sky started running, I googled to see if I could find a video clip and the first hit was him raving about it on another forum I use.).

Okay. All very well. Could even be funny. Except - He's a card carrying member of the BNP. Posts to "White Pride" sites (using the same 'handle' that people assume is my alter-ego) And also has a nice line in NI related sectarian 'banter' particularly, unfortunately on sites related to Irish rugby.

A while back, on a tellybox discussion channel the issue of me having two ID's, came up and resulted in quite a "heated debate", which he sat on the sidelines and watched. He then *sigh* started to propogate the idea on other forums that we were the same person.... Why? I have no idea, perhaps to curry favour on those where I'm 'known' in real life to some degree.... Anyway. The amount of grief it caused me (occasionally spilling into the wider world) was phenomenal. Eventually a fairly skilled mod on one forums (actually the same TV one) used his monitoring tools to definitively state that we were not at the same location....

Anyhow, this dates back several years and on those fora we both still use there's a kind of omerta. He got barred from one or two, I voluntarily stopped using a couple where he was regular/popular.

The upshoot is, if we run across each other at a new or neutral forum, he kicks off in the most vitriolic fashion available. It's sometimes put to bed by pointing onlookers in the direction of old threads on other boards. Sometimes it's just better to delete the account.

The really scary thing is, we're so alike in terms of vitrually everything else and the is such a wee country, we must ross paths in the real world. I'm never shy about popping mugshots on my profiles..... So he knows what I look like,,,,,,?

Odd indeed and clearly you made an impression for him to remember that far back.
However... I didn't decapitate you to go gallivanting headless around forums on other sites willy-nilly you know ?

I also found out yesterday that your decapitation of me relates directly to a quotation from Family Guy - so people think my name is from that. I should give you a credit nicolaaa.

Now, is this person going to attempt to make me actually headless irl?

I think it was a Friday afternoon. I can't even remember what you did to become headless but I did it with a big chopper (fnar fnar). You were slowest and leafy before that. ahh happy days.

My sleuth skills are not good enough to find the forum post in question, but I have a question anyway.

I've been here 8 years and still don't know. Where did Piss Off Lois come from?

It's nothing exciting - they have suggested I haven't a clue about my business, ask too many questions and they 'don't want to run my business for me'. Which would be fine but it is so randomly out of kilter with reality that it was only when i saw their name I clicked what was really going on. Nutter.
They would've been better of saying 'you're a smug, patronising cow' tbh, I wouldn't have given it a second thought then

I think I've found the site, but not the forum or the post. If I'm right, they even have their own Taz !

It sounds like the guy in question has issues. By the bucketload.

I remember the name, I think.

My only real forum crossover, apart from one lovely person now on BT, was the blind DJ. Anyone remember him? ?
