Would you wear these to work?

Pook82, 24 May, 2013 at 15:52 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 49

I've noticed lots of ladies around the office wearing shoes like this recently

I personally think they look a bit cheap and tarty, especially when worn on a professional environment (and with nude tights and a skirt above the knee). There is actually a girl in the office who is wearing these today

I would only wear these if my office was this

am I being an old fashion fuddy duddy?!

    Um.....yes.

Having said that, I wouldn't wear them to work. But I work in a lab, where the ability to jump away from an unexpected explosion is more important than looking good. I would wear them for my office/lecture days though.

If I owned a pair of Louboutins, I'd wear them everywhere, even in the lab!

I wouldn't, but I work in a school so not exactly appropriate and/or comfortable. If I was a more fashion-conscious girl who wasn't 6ft with massive clown feet and worked in an office environment I may consider them.

Yep, with pencil skirts or trousers. Nothing shorter than the knee though.

My current work outfit has shoes very similar. Awkward.

If you are old fashioned then I am too! Hate these shoes with a passion, and the a lot of women cannot walk in them so they just look silly. Nothing wrong with a classy heel though.

Yes I think it's the not being able to walk in them - just looks silly! Being 5 foot and a fart I love a good pair of heels, didn't mean to offend anyone!

I wouldn't, but mainly because I would fall down and my feet would hurt! Also I do think they are a bit too tall and wouldn't look right in my working environment. However I work in education and we generally do "smart casual" rather than "smart" so it might be different in another sector.

I'd wear them, better than wearing uggs which certainly shouldn't be seen outside the bedroom ?

No, and even if I worked in an office environment I wouldn't. I don't think they're particularly attractive or professional.

What do you do Kjay? (Trying to think of an occupation that would require such delightful footwear)

By the way I am loving how we have turned a thread about super glam shoes in to a thread about ugly boy shoes!

I can only wear high heels with a platform.if not they hurt my calves.

I like real uggs, not cheap ones that slump to the side.

Well i sure as hell couldn't pull those shoes off i wouldn't make it up the 4 flights of stairs once in those let alone continuously for 12 hours straight!... Give me my old faithful trainers any day they may be 2 years old and starting to show their age but they are comfy, they protect my feet from the hoists and stand-aids and only have to see me through another 31 shifts then i leave and they can meet the bin!!

    Hell no.

My office is on the 3rd floor with no lift, I'd never make it.

When I'm not in the office I'm doing inspections of buildings which often includes inspecting boiler rooms and rooftops. Occasionally climbing up scaffolding. Definitely not safe footwear!

No, but only because I couldn't even stand in them! They would be fine otherwise; it's not often we have to walk far.

I probably wouldnt wear the ankle strap ones but only because I never wear skirts to work so they would not be seen anyway. I do however wear a variety of heels to the office, the height of which depends on what I have got in the diary for the day and how much walking about I would need to do other than to the coffee machine, toilet etc ! I have worn my louboutins to the office once I think.

I miss working in an office. I was all pencil skirts, moderate heels, bit of sass. It was great.

Not quite the same if you try and do it with a toddler and 6m pregnant.

Sure do! Because I am too lazy to use my locker I walk to and from work wearing them and with my rucksack carrying my kit (translate to mostly food haha)

Nope. But then, my "work" is running around after a 2 yr old. Dr Martens or Converse are my shoe of choice.

My H is a manager of office based staff. He would have words with staff who turned up in those, they have quite a strict dress code.
