Writing your own vows

madscientist, 13 September, 2011 at 21:58 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hey Guys,

It has been decreed that we will be writing our own vows for our civil ceremony. I'm not great at putting my feelings out there in voice let alone on paper, and in front of everyone at the ceremony too <gulp/>. However, I appreciate this is something OH would love for our day, so I'm giving it a try.

Has anyone written vows, found any useful guides online giving hints and tips, or does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance.

Scary Smiley smile But great if you can pull it off.

Can't really give suggestions but certainly it needs to be personal and from the heart, but not cringeworthily mushy as obviously everyone will be listening.

I'm like you, not good at expressing myself in words but given time I'm sure I could manage. How long are you looking at filling? I'm assuming she'll be saying something to you, and then you to her, rather than you both repeating the same thing after each other like the legal bits?

Googling produces lots of sites but very few useful ones. This one seemed quite helpful though: https://www.write-thing.com

The problem with the Aego M is that they don't have any tweeters and they suffer from the same problem as other 2.1 systems which is a lack of mids. I would avoid 2.1 systems altogether in this price range and go for monitors instead.
