Wrongly addressed post

bettyb, 10 August, 2009 at 21:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I have sent a letter to my friend and it seems that I have addressed it to the wrong door number. This was a couple of weeks ago and it hasn't turned up at her house. My friend is going to knock on tommorow to see if they still have it. However, if they have just wrote 'return to sender' on it, will Royal Mail open it to find out where to return it to? there is info inside with our address on but just not sure if they open them or if they sit in a black hole somewhere.

I would have thought it will eventually find its way back to you if they have returned to sender although it might take a while. We had a wedding invite sent back like that from spain once.

Fingers crossed it gets back to you ok!

Thanks, I hope it does. It was MrB's stuff for my friend to do his books, so it has bank statements and other things in. Bugger.

We will be able to get most of the info again. Just a bloody hassle, added to the fact that we were in a bit of a hurry to get his books done. ah well never mind. lets hope the people have hung onto it and give it to my friend tommorow.
