WWYD?

Violet1, 8 July, 2008 at 13:57 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 64

Hi all. I need some help with writing a letter of complaint to go back with a football shirt I ordered. I asked for my nick name and instead of that they added another letter and it’s a common known word used in the porn industry. Funny as it might be I'm rather annoyed that someone could do this and properly get away with it. I called up the football team and the bloke just told me whilst laughing he didn’t know what the word was and that I should just return the item and they'll have it remade for me.

Now I need to know if you think I should take this further or just leave it as that. Am I overreacting here? Or should I write a complaint in? If so, how do I word this letter without sounding like a right miserable old moo?

Thanks Vx

Ooh crossed posts, I was right (it was the only thing that I could think of!)

I don't think it's that big a deal is it? It's nothing personal I am sure, just a genuine, albeit amusing, mistake. I'd just ask them to make another.

Well you learn something every day! Wonder how they advertise that or how you get into it and if they make claims for RSI very often??

?? Too funny. So your nickname is Fluffe? Or Luffer?

Anyway, I wouldn't give it another thought; people wouldn't necessarily know what it meant - it's not like your nickname is Unt and they got that wrong. Return the shirt and let them preplace it..

Oh thought I should I should add I would normally find it hilarious if it hadn't happend to me but I'm gutted I now have to wait another week for them to get it right. I suppose I'm more after an apology it's a major football club and you just don't expect this to happen.

Noo My nick name is Fuffa. and I paid for 5 letters and they somehow managed to add fluffa. personally it's not a mistake someone's done it for a laugh and yes like I said I can see the funny however it shouldnt have been allowed to be sent to me like that It cost me nearly £60 that's quite an expensive joke don't you think?

Even on my order they sent with the shirt its states own 5 letters <cry>

Makes you wonder what the bloke who was printing the shirt was thinking about at the time??

Honestly, I would just laugh it off and see it as a nice little anecdote to tell people later

I'm positive it wasn't done on purpose, I think you're being waaaay too sensitive over this. Send it back and get a new one, you won't be out of pocket so the cost isn't really relevant.

Mistakes happen, the whole world isn't out to get you. 'Cept maybe that person stood behind you...

I'm sure it was a mistake and even if it wasn't how on earth would you prove it?

PITA having to wait on the new one but if it was me, I probably wouldn't even have noticed ?

Aw come on I don't think I'm being oversensitive. Heidi I'm not teh sort of person who thinks the worlds out to get me either. Everyone who I have spoken to and shown the shirt too agree it's been done on purpose. If you ordered that shirt for your daughter I really don't think you'de be happy and I guarantee you would let them know about it. If it had said fluffy i would just laugh but it it offensive to me and thats why I am quite upset about and quite rightly too.

I'm not going to argue about this one enough of you are saying I'm overreacting here and fair one. I will just return the item and hope they get it right this time.

    Thanks for your replies.Vx

But it was not done for your daughter though was it? And if someone was really on the wind up then they could have put much worse on the back. Honestly its one of those things that happen when your ordering something with wording on it.

Are you going to keep the original shirt? Will you wear it to the match next season? You might get on MOTD2.

They've offered to make you a new shirt, take them up on it and laugh at the mistake along with everyone else. I'm a 33 year old woman of the world and have never heard of that porn word, anyone who tells you that its been done deliberately is trying to get you even more wound up than you already are.

Waaaaaaah, pmsl @ me ordering a football shirt for my daughter. Neeever going to happen ?

Joking aside (because I was you know), I would let them know about it and then let them fix it, I certainly wouldn't think I'd been singled out for a 'joke'. I think maybe your friends are humouring you..

How do they know this? Unless they work at the place and did it themselves then they don't know whether it's been done one purpose or not. It's not like it's a well known swear word, I doubt many people would know what a fluffer is.

So Wizzy doesn't want a QPR shirt, Hole?

I also believe you are being a wee bit oversensitive. I can't imagine anyone doing this on purpose - why would they?

It could have been worse, you could have got Fucka instead of Fuffa. Be thankful for small mercies.
