Yes, think I would have done. If that had been me. I would have stopped the car and got out and checked and apologised. She's very lucky she didn't do more damage to the poor girl.

Grrrr. Why do cyclists do your head in? Surely not all of them do?

For the record, yes I would ahve done the same.

I'd have done the same, so good on you. I can't believe that someone would knock a person of their bike and not get out of their car to see if they were okay, whoever was at fault!

I think you did the right thing but, as Mrs Winkle said, why do cyclists "do your head in"?

Good for you, i'd like to think I would do the same.

Cyclists is a big generalisation though ? Sometimes the odd cyclist annoys me. Especially the nob head who rides in the middle of the road down the high street. He isn't turing just annoying people (but im sure not everyone does this ?)

I would probably have physically dragged the driver out of the car and demanded she at least apologise to the cyclist... I tihnk what you did was in the right - I just get too angry for my own good!

A few years ago I was witness to a car hitting at motorbike on a dual carriage way the biker actual went over the top of the car and landed it front of it as soon as i got to work I reported the car and I was the only person that was witness to the actual impact. I have never once thought I did the wrong thing h2b is a biker and if something like that had happend to him I would have wanted someone to come forward.

Hmmm, don't agree with what the woman done, but do you really want her to go doooowwwnnnnn?

I thought you were hating the fact that your brother was in jail for dangerous driving? I guess this must be different?

OK so I obviously explained myself badly.

I don't mind cyclists really, when I lived in town it was the best way to get around. There are always going to be a few cyclists that annoy me, such as there was one that insisted on cycling on the pavement, and shouted to two girls that he wasn't going to slow down, so they'd better get out of his way.. He pushed one of them over, she fell flat on her back, cracked her skull and died. He got a fine, and that's it.

What I meant was, there's always going to be people that annoy you, whether they're pedestrians, cyclists or motorists.

Maxi - I didn't actually mean that she should go "doowwwwwwnnnn", for a split-second I related the woman to the witness of the accident. Don't ask.

You said "As much as cyclists do my head in..." - I'm not sure how that could be interpreted to mean "all types of people can annoy me". And why mention that terrible accident? The man was a cnut, cyclist or not, what does mentioning it prove? That there are bad cyclists out there? I'll start listing all the car accidents, bike accidents etc... to prove a point shall I?

It really annoys me that people are so quick to pick up what cyclists do wrong - yes there's crap cyclists, but there's crap people in every walk of life.

    Oh my god!

I'm just going to be quiet now, I didn't mean for it to sound that way.

Please just let this thread drop off the page.

I don't often make sense, as you can see here. Hence I don't post that often.

What I meant was - OK, my brother got done for Dangerous Driving. He drove recklessly, and he's now paying for it. The woman yesterday, as I said before, didn't even get out of her car, didn't undo her seatbelt, and kept revving her engine and edged forwards with her car, to kind of say to the cyclist "Get up and get out of my way already!"

The woman yesterday reminded me a bit of the only witness to the accident that my brother was in. She had pretty much the same facial expression.

    Make more sense?

Yes, that does make sense, thanks for explaining it. I can understand your anger at the woman given that she reminded you of the witness in your brother's accident.

I certainly hope the woman gets a long ban. Well done for reporting it.

Sorry, I get really wound up easily and get frustrated with myself when I don't explain myself very well.

    But thanks again ?

Yes, but I don't blame you.

I am REALLY not good at explaining myself..

Anyway, what I meant was- my brother is doing time for his crime, and he feels remorse every day. That still, of course, doesn't make it right.

It just shocked and appalled me that the woman yesterday was actually trying to rev her engine, and get the cyclist to get out of the way as soon as she could. If it had been me, or anyone in my family or friends, including my brother, I would have reacted with a "Oh my god what have I done!" first of all, and then legged it out of the car, made sure the cyclist was ok, and then take the person to hospital if needs be, or call an ambulance at the very least.

What I meant to mean was, that I was severely disgusted with the behaviour of the driver of the car yesterday.

I think most people will be in agreement that the woman's behaviour was shocking. I also would have reported it.

I just think it was unnecessary for you to add your comment about hoping that she goes down - especially now that you've said you didn't mean it that way.

Anyway, I shall now stay ? on the subject.
