<sigh> Who wants to come over and watch it with me? Chook? Clurrrrre?

Me too - got rid of H and kids for an hour - bliss!

Thankfully H has a big hangover and is suffering so hopefully he will have an early night and leave me to watch X factor in peace - he is not a fan !

Do you know what the theme is this week ? I'm assuming it's christmas songs and also the actualy single they will be releasing.

For the first time in five years and just the second time in my life, I'm going on a christmas night out. On the night of the xfactor final. ?

Out of the 8 of us, 4 watch it and 2 want to know the result and 2 don't. If I find out the result before I watch it, I won't be happy magica! Me and t'other one have threatened to go to fat rons if we hear the result. ?

(I am looking forward to the night out though, it's with lovely north west hitchers ?)

Yip, I think they do one Christmas song, one duet with a famous group/singer, and the single Hallelujah.

I have been looking forward to this all week but I am feeling rough today and may not enjoy it as much as I shouold. I might try adn sleep for an hour or so before it. Or just start eating loads and hope hangover goes away in the next 3 hours.

Alexandra should win as she is the better singer but I kind of want JLS to win.

When you say 'the single Hallelujah', you don't mean that the X Factor person is releasing a cover of the Leonard Cohen song do you??

I'm in tonight and going to watch it. I saw it for the first time last week ? I'm off for a sleep first though.

What time is the Girls Aloud prog on?

Yes Doughnut, they are. I'm seething. I love that song, especially the Jeff Buckley one which we had at our wedding, and I just know that whoever wins will butcher it.

That's exactly what she means, local runt Eoghan is 'performing' A Cohen penned track made famous by Buckley....

    Silly wee boy.

Ohhh... And fix those bloody eyebrows son, caterpillars are not a good look.

There's a possibility that he might win mind you.....

The number of places that I've seen "Vote Eoghan, 'Cos he's not English" is astounding.

Oh yes, vote for the boy because he's not English, even though he couldn't sing his way out of a Status Quo fan club bag. I hhhhhhhhhhate that bollox.

Never heard him sing TBH. Don't watch it.

Picked up the NI edition of the Scum today to discover that the frontpage headline is "Vote Eoghan!"

Given some of the news in the last 24 hours that annoyed me rather intensely. The "Not English" thing annoys me.

His eyebrows bug the bejasus out of me (a personal bugbear, I briefly date an American who opined that the most striking thing about NI men was their hideous eyebrows.. I hate proving people like that right)

    Covering Hallelujah is... Muh!

ONE, that sort of bullshit makes me mad too.

Can I urge you all to download this instead of the X Factor single (those that were going to). 'Geraldine' says that Simon Cowell is the grinch that stole the Christmas number 1 and she wants to bring it back.

I saw Steve B the other day and was tempted to do a crap sleb spot post ?

There was Leon too. And Girls Aoud won Popstars the rivals. Will Young won Pop idol.

i liked popstars/the rivals and pop idol. i think sharon osbourne put me off XF. plus i don't like the randomness of them all being different acts

i've just found the winners on wiki. shayne ward and leon jackson (who?) are the others.

I love the Jeff Buckley version of Hallelujah, and it'll always be the definitive version fo me, but I've got a feeling that Alexandra and even JLS might make a decent stab at it. the very thought of Eggnog trying it makes me want to vomit. They surely can't arrange it in a High School musical style, so how will he cope?

I'm hanging on to the hope that Eggnog will get voted out first so we on't have to suffer him murdering a beautiful song.

There isn't a sixteen year old on the planet that could sing it properly, It's not an issue of musical ability.

Did you know that the JB version actually differs significantly from Cohen's original... Which is rather more... ummm... spiritual?

Never heard anyone cover the Cohen version in it's entirety.

No one else thinks the Peter Kay song is genius then? Because I am genuinely walking around singing 'over and over and over again'. I'm sure half the nation don't get the joke ?

There was something on telly (or it might have been the radio) recently where they were talking about how the 'comedy song' is effectively dead.

The gist of it was that popular music isn't taken seriously enough by anyone anymore for novelty singles to be novel.

I think they had a point.

Crisps? check. Dip? check. Pizza? On its way. Box of chocolates? Check.

Only thing missing is wine due to upduffedness but coke is an adequate substitute.

    Come on Alex!
