I didn't have any luck with it. Used it for about a year and it did make you conscious of what you were eating, but I found that I changed to a low fat diet introduced excercise etc and never lost any weight.

I'd taken my tablet one morning and decided to have a takeaway for dinner so didn't bother taking my after dinner dose as I thought that would be enough to avoid the side effects - I sure learned my lesson! Couldn't move for the whole night, my stomach was in knots so it defo teaches u a lesson.

I've been on Xenical for 3 months, and I've lost 21 lbs in that time. It works for some people, but you have to consider what you eat. If you eat to much fat you get the horrible 'treatment effects' - not pleasant. If you don't eat enough there is nothing for the tablets to work on, so there's no point in taking them. I'm on 1500 calories a day but I eat most of what I did before, just smaller portions and fewer take aways. I've had to cut down on cheese though - too much fat!

Want some advice? Try it for a month. Get some 'big knickers' and pantyliners just in case - it's not unusual until you get used to them. But persevere, once you get used to them. It doesn't work for everyone though, my friend lost a pound in her first month so decided to try something else.

My top diet tips - porridge for breakfast really fills you up, melon and mushrooms are as low in calories as celery, and don't deny yourself anything because you'll only end up bingeing.

    Good luck!

I tried Alli for a couple of months and it didn't really have any effect on my weight, so I stopped taking it. I read lots of information about the unpleasant side effects but I didn't experience any of those either.

From reading various forums there seems to be a huge variation in its effectiveness and the side effects, so you'll just have to see how it affects you. ?
