I did a wedding between christmas and new year last year. The bride was really concerned that there was no christmassy type deco or even a hint of Christmas so she went for a winter theme . The colour scheme was blue and white with white lace covering some of the walls and my blue uplighting shining through behind. Icicles were used to decorate including icicle fairy lights on the top table. The whole scene was really fairytail and had the 'wow' factor.

    Hi ...

Beth29 is having an xmas wedding but she's not often on here these day ... but she was torn originally (I think I've got the right hitcher!) between the golds/reds of a very rich wedding theme or icy blues/whites and like Sandy's client went for the icy theme ... which I think if its done right can be absolutely stunning!

It does sound like a nice idea, but be prepared for some of your guests not to be able to make it as Christmas is quite a tight time financially for people. Plus your close family might find it a bit tight with your OH birthday and Christmas (and then after your wedding) anniversaries.

I do prefer the idea of having special occasions separate so that you can give them all sufficient time to enjoy them.

I do however love the idea of a winter wedding rather than christmas using blues and silvers (or even purples and silvers).

    Hiya,

We got married on 15th December, a week before my husbands 31st birthday and we never had any problems. In fact all but about 5 of our guests came too and they all commented on how nice and different it was to have a mid winter/xmas wedding.

We decided to include xmas in our decoration etc as we didnt have a huge amount of money to spend on decs and the church and hall both were going to have large trees in the hallways already decorated. We went for a gold theme and i decorated stacks of mini boxes as 'presents' for the table centres.
