Just looking for a bit of inspiration really..

I'm hosting "Come dine with Brat" on Saturday night, I've sorted the main and pud but have no idea what to do for a starter. I want something really light and vegetarian..

Main is veggie lasagne with sweet potato fries, pud is eton mess.

I'm no chef and I'm not a veggie but how about a goats cheese tart? Very yummy!

How about an anti pasti platter to keep tie in with the lasagne? - Brushetta, basil, motzarella Olives, , sun dried tomatoes, peppers, artichokes etc.

You can serve up on a platter and bread basket, and let folk pass them round and take what the want. Good social ice breker too.

At our wedding I had roasted tomato and mozzarella salad with rocket pesto. Tasty and very easy to make.

Baked camembert baked in its box with crusty bread dipped straight in. Easy and no washing up! That's only really good for two though.

    Love teh idea of antipasti

Cant go wrong with goats cheese in my opinion!! yummy!!

a very light and easy and can be done in advance option is little puff pastly jalousie.

cut a rectangle and bung (thats the technical term) a load of pesto and a bit of cheese on half, on the other cut slits then fold in half and seal round the edge.

this may help, so u put pesto& cheese or what ever filling you want ( for sweet you can use jam) on the left then fold along the dotted line. the lines on the right are slits! cook for a bout 10 mins then serve on salad. you can do any size you want so a bigish one or a few small ones with different fillings!
