Which is your favourite and why? we reckon we can do 2 + Rhodes and can't narrow it down.

I have only been to Rhodes, Crete and Corfu but Corfu is my favourite. I have been to most parts of the island, but my favourite is the NE coast going up towards Kassiopi. There are lots of small pretty bays which can only be got to by very steep windy roads or boat so none are too over developed, my personal favourites are Kalami, Agni & Saint Stefanos, (the food in the last two places is wonderful - really very good and a reason to return to Corfu). If I went without the kids I would be tempted to hire a small boat and explore the coast line that way. Corfu Town is also worth a visit or two and is full of attractive Venetian architecture and plenty of character.

I have some recent holiday pics in my flickr photos if you want to have a look.

I have been to crete, zakynthos, rhodes and corfu.

Corfu is my favourite, i think i have been there 8+ times.

I love the north of the island. Kassiopi and paleokastritsas are beautiful, i also love Roda, acharavi and parts of Sidari.I just love everything about it, the food, the music, the beaches. sigh.

Another vote for Corfu. Off there for the fourth time in a couple of weeks to Kalami. I too love the north of the island particularly Paleokastritas. Fantastic people and of course, excellent food.

    Can't wait!

Another vote for Corfu, I've been to Gouvia and Paleokastritas. They're both gorgeous but the sea at Paleokastritas is so clear you can see all the little tropical fish swimming around your ankles when you walk in. <sigh>

There's a guide here, Mrs J. It's around the 70s according to that site, so still nice.

I mostly love it because my parents live there and therefore we have free accomodation but Allonisos is lovely, it is just of Skiathos (about an hour and a half on the dolphin) but also accessible from Athens via a ferry. Gorgeous old town, lovely port town and there are some stunning beaches too. We go on Tuesday and I can't ruddy well wait!

I've been to Corfu, Crete and Zakynthos.

My favourite was Zakynthos - because it was so laid back and quiet compared to the others. I was there in 1999 & 2001 so it was still 'undiscovered' back then - I've no idea what it would be like now!

Though that said I wouldn't hesitate about going back to any of them - I love Greece!

We're in the process of looking for our summer 09 holiday and Greece will probably be our destination, but which island is the question, I'm looking for somewhere that ticks all my boxes (day time flight - taking 2 young children, all inclusive, kids club for age 3 plus and can fly to from either Glasgow or Belfast)

There is so many islands to choose from - good luck with your search.

    Luv Victoria

    xx

indeed too many to choose from, thanks for the suggestion. ?

just looked at a map - not time to do corfu unfortunately. we're going to venice by train then ferry to athens and we have to end up in rhodes to get the hydrofoil to my mum's house in turkey so i think the islands will have to be between athens and rhodes (ish) as we'll only have 2-3 days at each.

I'd have to say crete, but that's because it is the only one I have been too!

My inlaws like corfu, and are going to Kos shortly. My inlaws liking something is generally not a good recommendation in my book, but that is a bit unfair to most of corfu I would imagine. ?
