Are ceremony only invites acceptable during Covid?

Deed81, 7 April, 2021 at 21:57 Posted on Planning 0 1
My partner and I have booked a small wedding for August. Welsh guidelines state that the number of people that can attend the ceremony is dependant on the venue and the number they can accommodate while socially distancing. However we’ve kept the reception breakfast numbers to 15 which was the indoor limit last year (small wedding suits us fine)

My dilemma is we can have more people present in the actual ceremony than the wedding reception/breakfast as the room is huge
As we’re in extraordinary times would it be acceptable to just invite people to the ceremony and then only immediate family stay for the reception?
My partner is unhappy with this but I don’t see it as an issue.
What’s peoples thoughts on this? xx

I too have been considering doing something like this. I don't see it as a problem as to me the ceremony is the most important part.
People should be understanding because of these difficult times. Especially if you explain to them that your reception room can't hold as much as your ceremony room x
