Are wedding dresses a standard length?

Vikster79, 11 August, 2010 at 09:42 Posted on Planning 0 5

I am getting concerned that the shoes i have bought will be too tall for my dress (cant try it on as its at my dads and hes a way from us at the min!) Do you know if there is a standard length to a wedding dress?

Im 5ft 4.5 (dont 4get the half its very important ? and my shoes are 4.5"

I do remember trying on my dress with the talest heels i had (i think!) and im sure it was still on the floor but the shoes i have have a larger platform. Suppose i need to just 4get about it until i try it on. I was just wondering if they were all made for a specific length.

I was told two different things from different shops, one said they make them standard to fit 5ft11 and one said 5ft8 I think. But when I tried on lots of dresses I only had a couple that were too short and I'm 6ft so think you should be fine

I think it largely depends on the designer - I have a Mori Lee dress, I'm 5ft 8, have 2 inch heels and dress still had to be taken up 2 inches!! x
