My witnesses are also playing a BIIIIG role in the organisation so I'm getting them a bottle of wine and doing them a cross stitch picture each... sounds a bit pants I know but its the sort of thing they'll both appreciate!!

Not for being witnesses, no, but as they're our mums they'll be getting pressies anyway to say thank you for everything else they've done.

Our witnesses are our mum's and they're already getting a bouquet of flowers just to say thanks for all the help they've given us.

We'll actually it's thanks to my mum as she's done loads for us, h2b's mum has done nothing other than be a witness but we can't not get her anything and leave her out.

We're also having our mum's as witnesses. We've got them flowers but not because they are our witnesses.

I never realised so many people had their Mum's as their witnesses.

At the moment I think we're having my sister, who is my MOH so she's already getting something, and my Best Friend, who I'll get a present for too.

Not for being witnesses, no. We are having the best man and BM as ours.

Tbh, I think all this present buying gets a bit out of hand. We are buying everyone who has helped a token 'something', but not going mad about it.

Gosh, loads of people are having their mums as witnesses. We decided too because it's a nice way for them to be a bit more involved. They've done loads (especially my mum) for the planning so it'll be nice for them to have a really public role on the day (other than being our mums, of course!). They were really touched to be asked...I know my mum is really looking forward to it. We've also asked H2B's dad to do a reading so he's really involved in the ceremony (and my dad is giving me away so involved that way).

Derailing the thread a bit, but why did you choose the witnesses you have?

We are having one of my friends who if it wasn't for her we wouldnt have met and thought that was a lvoely way to recognise that.... we asked H2B sister as she really wanted to be a b/ridesmaid and her daughter and we had said no - so we asked her.

I was a witness but also a bridesmaid the last time, so didn't get a gift, nor woudl I expect one. Maybe I have answered my own question!!

We got our witnesses some treats! We got a chocolate plaque with their names on surrounded by truffles and marzipan fruits for our other. Their favourite things. All gifts we got were personal to the individual.

For all those who did give their witnesses gifts (and they weren't mums who would of gotten gifts anyway) when did you give your witnesses their gifts?

I`m having both of our sisters-I originally asked them to be BMs but had to go back on it as there would have been too many BMs-they were both fine about it but I wanted them to be involved so thought it would be a nice thing for them to do. Hadnt thought about pressies for them, but cant afford anything else TBH!
