We are having a campervan, our own campervan. Not because its different but because she is our pride & joy!! And because we love VWs.

It does irritate me slightly when people hire campervans just to 'have something different'

    Old mini or new mini?

I bet if you search there may be other companies that do them. Have you asked the original company if they know anyone else?

I bet you could find someone privately that would rent it out for you for the day (obviously there may be an insurance issue there, I don't know)....

My dad and I will be arriving in a pure white London cab as my dad is a cabbie and he knows someone who has a white one and can do it cheap for us, plus I love them anyway and it obviously has the significance of being my dad's job. I thought this was quite an unusual idea but it turns out it's not, loads of people have them for weddings ?

Yep, that's what we're having too, an old vintage Fairway white london cab... thought it was apt as we live and are getting married in London.... plus was a lot cheaper than the Rolls I wanted and seeing as it's a civil ceremony with the reception in the same place and no one will actually see us in it anyhow!

I'm not but I'm really tempted to surprise HTB with a vintage beetle as he adores them and sold his to buy a jeep so I could have a horse trailer. If i got a camper all groomsmen could go in it too so may do that as that is his dream when we can afford it. I thought the same maybe someone would do it for some extra cash?

Thanks Beccy I'll check them out.

Personally I'm not really bothered about the car. It doesn't matter to me how I get to the venue and I'd quite happily just get a normal cab - or get driven in a normal car, honestly I don't see the point. However - seems to be important to OH so will go with the flow.....

The car was more important to me than OH (apparantly I'm car obsessed-he's happy to walk!! lol). I've booked a Daimler State Landaulet with a matching Jaguar limo, they are black over porcelain white and soooo beautiful!!!

Hiya, I'm not sure whether to go for a 1930s Jag/ Bentley or a Karma Kab. Thing is, my ceremony and reception are in one place so no-one will see me arrive in the car... But the Karma Kabs look lush:

Ohhhh i cant join in we are having no cars.....we are both car nuts as well my OH races cars so i spend my weekends at racetracks throughout the uk this weekend Silverstone.....but due to our wedding being all in one place and me staying at the venue i have no need for a car although if budget permits i may try and sort a car out for OH and best man he would love an old jag.....however currently he is happy in driving his race car up to our venue as he wants to ribbon it all up etc!!!

Hi Kerry - where are you getting married? Sounds similar to our venue. We are getting married at Dodmoor House, Northamptonshire. Ceremony there, reception there and also the honeymoon suite is there too. However I'm getting ready at my Mum's which is about 15 miles away down the A5... Maybe I should just get a less fancy pants car? Would make more sense eh.

    Hi Spangles

Were getting married at Bovey Castle, Dartmoor, Devon its only a 30 min drive from our house but i just want to be up their the night before to relax and ensure everything is ok plus i get to spent some time with my mum, dad, brother, Nan and CB My OH sister as we are all up there the night before.

Ceromony, Wedding Breakfast and Evening all in the same place so no need for cars lol!!!

As i said im really gutted as we are both so car mad!!!

I think you should have a car if you want what are you planning on having? what is your wedding date?

I'm booking through Special Day Cars, they have a pretty good range of cars avaliable, i've chosen the DB9 for H2B, not necessarily unusual but hopefully impressive for him!

WOW Bovey Castle looks LUSH (just had a sneaky look @ their website! The Karma Kab (pic I put on previously - if it worked!) is an option but they are based in London so will be expensive to get them to come to Northamptonshire... Also thinking of a 1930s Jag or Bentley but it's just to drive me and my Mum from her house to the venue. No-one else will see it as they will all be waiting for us inside the venue.

Getting married September 10th 2010 - what about you Kerry? x

Just had a sneak peak at Dodmoor it looks really nice and you get it all to yourself wish i got Bovey all to myself!!! Which room are you getting married in the Catesbury or Courtyard Barn?, i Know what you mean about the car, What about asking Dodmoor whether they have a car you can use i know a few venues i looked at had old cars maybe worth a try, im using the cars at Bovey to escort me round as its too far to walk in my dress and heels lol!!!

What about all the other plans hows it all going?

Sadly there's no driving with our wedding either but the vintage Beetle sounds just up my alley. That was my first car and I'm always excited to see one in good condition (mine wasn't even close to good condition!).

Ooh fanks! Getting married in the courtyard barn (the smaller one) then having the reception in the Catesby Barn as it will be big enough to seat everyone at round tables. Dodmoor don't have a car unfortunately but there are Bentley enthusiasts in my Mum's village (not far from Silverstone). So far - booked the venue & caterers... seeing some bands before Christmas so hoping to book one before next year. Looking for wedding dresses next year as I'm on Fat Fighters to try and lose a few tonnes before!!

What else have you booked/ done so far? x

Blimey Kerry you're WAY too organised - I'm totally rubbish! We're having a friend do our invites too - he is a graphic designer so going to ask him to do something like this:

Oh and Silverstone is literally a stone's throw from me! We went skiing in Feb and that's when my OH proposed - Les Houches, Chamonix - very nice chalet there! x
