aromatic shoulder of pork 'donnie brasco'

From Hugh F-W's Meat. has anyone made this? I was thinking of doing it at the weekend - having a barbecue/party and thought it might work as a sort of central thing, with burgers and hot dogs etc. If you've made it, what did you serve it with? And any tips? Thought if I do it we could just have a load of extra rolls and have pork sandwiches alongside the other stuff.

    Seriously, I've not made it but it sounds delicious. I'm not sure that having burgers on the side is a great idea though - it's getting a bit meat-as-condiment, isn't it? Hot dogs for the kids is a good idea. I like the idea of doing a pulled-pork sandwich type of thing, maybe with a slightly Oriental-stylee apple sauce? And salad? I don't normally like coleslaw but I think thee's a case for it here...

    My friend made a fabulous salad that would work well with what you've suggested. Dead easy, just tinned chickpeas, pommegranite seeds and chopped orange. No need for any dressing as the fruit does that. It was fabulous!
