Asda seems really interesting now!!

jojo2, 27 January, 2011 at 12:27 Posted on Planning 0 11

I popped to Asda today for a few bits and came home with tonnes of stuff and ideas for my wedding.

Instead of paying £15 for occasional table decorations from a florist, for drinks reception and evening buffet tables, I bought 10 handmade stem vases reduced to £1 each, and 4 packs of four glass tea light holders for £2.50 a pack, not sure if thats cheap but they are good quality. I am sure I can come up with some kind of table arrangements for that price.

Also anyone marrying soon they have boxes of 12 heart shaped shortbread cookies which you could ice your selves for under £2 a pack. Also boxes of 25 Plain round shortbread cookies, 2 packs for £3. Bags of 7 mini rolls of love hearts for 68p which don't expire until June 2012 (I checked)! Valentines items are everywhere and great for weddings.

Sorry for rambling but when you are planning a wedding you start to notice things in the same shops that you wouldn't normally look at.

Good ides, trip to the supermarket later on methinks. Problem is I don't have much storage space at the moment, may have to ask gran nicely if I can use one of her rooms for wedding stuff.

I've always wondered about occasional tables.

What are they when they aren't tables?

Do they have a part time job?

    Does anyone know?
