I thought he'd committed just about every sexual crime going except paedophilia - did the programme tell a different story?

Well apparently he started abusing his daughter when she was 11, which strikes me as beyond the pale paedo-wise.

Fair enough - I thought it was 19, but presumably that was when he locked her up.

There have been 2 stories about different people recently, but both in Austria.

It was a haunting story. I simply cannot fathom 24 years in that little basement. When I heard about how hidden they were - the eight locked doors between the house and the bunker, the tiny hidden door - I felt sick. There was literally no escape. Giving birth alone is traumatic enough, but seven times, with no help? She's lucky to be alive (or is she?).

I agree GWTW, can any of us imagine being locked up for any length of time never mind 24 years and she must have been terrified each time she was pregnant.

I still can't understand how he was able to buy clothes etc and food for the "family" down there and no-one noticed.

If I come home with any shopping, oh is in the bags nosing to see what i've bought and usually starts eating it before its even unpacked.

I cannot imagine the fear that they went through on a daily basis. What would have happened to them if he had died or had an accident.
