Hello!

Recently engaged and still in that lovely bubble. We've started to browse at venues and we're keen to get married in 2022. However it looks like that might be a challenge with Avaliablity. Just wondering other people's experience of this?

You might need to go really off peak, or have a midweek wedding, for it to be possible...

Yes agree with poster above as lots of 2020 and even 2021 weddings were moved to next year. We got engaged in nov 2020 but chose July 2022 straight away as were worried about this year still being very restricted. We booked our venue in April 2021 and some places were already pushing for decisions as were holding dates for lots of couples. We wanted a summer Saturday too so books it up ASAP. Good luck with the planning!

    Hello!

I have only just booked my 2022 wedding in the last couple of weeks.
We are getting married on a Saturday in October at The Arden Hotel in Stratford. I think availability will be out there, but maybe spend some time searching for venues that aren’t quite as well known in your area. I had never heard of ours before I started searching!
    Good luck! x

I’m in the same boat as you, recently engaged and as we’ve been together over a decade we’d love to get married next year.

We have managed to find a few with some Saturday availability to few but it’s predominantly in the autumn so if you’re open to the off season and not desperate for a summer wedding that might be the way to go.
    Good luck!

You'll be surprised, I booked mine this month for October 22. Have a look around and see what you like, they'll tell you availability when you view the venue Smiley smile

I only recently got engaged and have managed to find availability for a July wedding in London!

You may want to go for a non conventional venue (I.e not a hotel that hosts weddings, a barn etc)
I know Linden house and Middle Temple have availability x

I booked my wedding in August this year for August 2022. I've mostly been able to find suppliers okay but I think it has helped that I've booked a weekday. Although my venue only had 1 weekday available for the week I wanted.

One supplier I really struggled to book was a videographer - I contacted about 10 in total and only 2 were available on my date. Also couldn't get my preferred time for the registrar.

One thing I would say to bear in mind is that with suppliers being super busy, they may take longer to get back to you. If you can, visit local wedding fairs as you can find suppliers that you may not have come across otherwise. Good luck and try not to stress Smiley heart

Exactly the same for me. Recently booked for October 22, they still had another October and even a September Saturday free when I enquired! So definitely worth asking.

We've just confirmed our venue for October 2022. We've gone for a Sunday, as that way it's only one day off work if people want to stay over!!
Supplier's have been fine, although slow to respond.
I'm looking forward to an Autumn Wedding!!

    Hello!
Thank so much for all the responses! We had wanted an autumn/winter wedding which has worked it our favour! Finding that places do have some availability off season/weekdays.

One main reason for struggling to get a video midweek could be they most likely have a full time other job. Same go's for a lot of people who shoot weddings, which can also account for some very long photo delivery times after the wedding and slow communications.

2022 has been impacted by covid from couples that have moved from 2021 March April May June to the same -- ish dates in 2022 so the second half of the year has a little more availability than the fist. But in normal times the second half of the year is usually busier than the first as the first 3 months of the year are cold and dark but the last 3 months October can still be good, then there is a little peak around November 5th and Christmas weddings are very popular.

Definitely understand that, in my case it was the latter reason because the videographers I contacted said that they already had weddings booked on that day. I would have had a much easier time with an Autumn date but I was very keen on August which is super busy in normal times.

I’ve seen lots of photos from recent weddings (late September/October) and they are gorgeous with autumnal colours etc ❤️

Yes August has always been the busiest month, the teachers are still off and you have a bank holiday in there too.
