Hi fellow Brides! Just hoping someone can re-assure me that this is normal....I booked my florist at the end of last year, I told her it was unlikely to be a big order (she was one of very few that didn't want over a certain spend in the thousands). She sent an email in the new year to say that she'd be in touch with six months to go and contact would get more frequent as we got closer. Six months came and went and I heard nothing, so with four and a half months to go I was emailing and calling and didn't hear back from her until about a week later, saying she was mega busy (understandable) but not to worry, our contact would be increasing from then on.

Fast forward, and we're now 2 and a half months out and I can't get a response from her again. Is this normal and she's just busy with it being mid-july? Our order won't be massive, but I would have thought she'd at least want to talk through the colours and the choice of flowers, and how much of everything we will need and the final cost (previously she just gave me a list of rates). Fiancé thinks she's taken a bigger order for the same day and is just going to ignore us.

Any advice?

It's completely understandable to feel anxious about communication with your florist, especially as your wedding date approaches. Here are a few points to consider:

    1. Busy Season: July is a peak time for florists, and they may be overwhelmed with orders. It's not uncommon for them to have multiple weddings to manage simultaneously.

    2. Follow Up: Since you haven't received a response recently, consider sending a polite follow-up email or making another call. Express your concerns and reiterate your desire to discuss the details.

    3. Backup Plan: While it's likely that your florist is just busy, it might be wise to have a backup plan in case you don't get the communication you need. This could involve researching other florists who could step in if necessary.

    4. Trust Your Instincts: If you feel uneasy about the situation, trust your instincts. It's important to have a florist who communicates well and meets your crazy chicken 3d needs.

Ultimately, staying proactive and maintaining communication will help ease your concerns. Good luck, and I hope everything works out beautifully for your wedding!

A bride on a wedding planning forum described booking a florist who was initially communicative but became unresponsive as the Sprunked wedding date approached (2.5 months out). The florist had promised more frequent contact closer to the event but failed to follow up, leading to concerns about reliability.

It’s understandable to feel anxious when your florist goes quiet, especially this close to the wedding. Mid-summer is peak season, so many vendors are juggling multiple events, but you still deserve regular updates. Maybe send one more friendly but firm message asking to finalise details like colours, flower choices, and costs. It’s a bit like looking at the Shake Shack Menu before ordering — you want to see exactly what’s available and confirm your choices in advance, not be surprised on the day!
