back detail dresses and veils?

Couple of options, based on all the reading I've done about veils:

1. Consider where the details are on the dress and have a veil that doesn't cover them

Or 2. Go for a simple 1 layer veil, no details on it, so that the dress can be seen through it?

Have you tried any veils on, I was umming and ahhing about a veil as my dress also has a lovely keyhole back, when I tried one, I hated the feeling of it and couldn't wait to get it off!!

My dress has a similar back to yours. I've not ordered a veil yet, but tried on several styles, i'll be going for a single tier with lace edging that matches my dress. I wasn't sure if i wanted a veile or not, but tried it on and it just finished off the dress!

Lottie is this an Essense of Australia dress? It's beautiful! So is OP dress! I don't think a veil would detract from the gorgeous back detail. Mine has a fancy back and I've decided to heve a veil just for the ceremony and photo opportunity - some of the photos using the veil as a feature are gorgeous!

I agree and for purely selfish reasons I do miss it when there is not a veil, the way it lights up with the sun behind it is great, and can sometimes give the effect of a diffused glow around the bride - softening the light on the face, and I am also able to have fun and do stuff like this.

I'm in the same quandry - hairdresser has recommended I have a veil but my dress has lots of back detail around where a veil might hit and not sure a short one would work for me!

Your dress has lots of beautiful shoulder detail so I think one with not too much material and not too long would look gorgeous with your lovely dress - you can always ditch it after a bit if you feel like it
