Background music whilst eating

Em1986, 15 August, 2013 at 16:02 Posted on Planning 0 4

So.. I want to have some music playing whilst everyone is eating but unsure of the kind of music...

After recieving some great advice on here we are having New orleans jazz at the reception drinks so I was thinking of buying a new orleans Jazz CD maybe?

Any ideas?

Were having a pianist for our ceremony as there is a gorgeous piano in our ceremony room. So he is staying for the breakfast as he has a smaller portable piano. just playing some soft background music. Personally I like it and think it just hels create a nice atmosphere. Maybe a CD of easy listening songs? Im sure you can porbably buy CDs specifically made for this nowadays! x

We did a range of songs (mostly/loosely love songs) on an iPod. This was great for us as our tastes are VERY different, now we have a joint playlist we both love!

Some guests commented on the variety and noticed some old favourites of theirs which was quite sweet.

I bought a Nat King Cole and his trio CD off amazon, then OH added some Otis Reading, Ella Fitzgerald, Moon River type stuff and we played it all off an ipod with a bit of Debussy mixed in. Was perfect.

We got our DJ to play a selection of 80's classics... by all accounts everyone had a great time trying to guess the songs!

I've got a violinist called Simon Jordan playing for my ceremony, then he's staying on to play piano for the wedding breakfast too. Really inspired by him as he will play anything I ask for! If you want some inspiration he puts all his previous clients' requests online at www.pianistwedding.co.uk. Hope this helps!
