Band of Dj?!

Sammy, 7 August, 2024 at 09:20 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi all,

I am getting married next March and we are currently deciding whether to get a band or DJ. Originally we were thinking DJ but we really want to put more money into the entertainment on the day and think a band will be better at getting everyone on the dance floor and having a good time.

Any thoughts from brides out there?!

If you did have a band did you have them just do an evening set or did you also get them to do ceremony and drinks reception?!

I have never seen a band do the ceremony and drinks reception - only the evening. A full on band would perhaps be a little much for the drinks reception but I do see duos performing during this stage and ceremony which work very well. Search for "mango acoustic" who are very good.

When the band play they usually do in 2 or 3 sets with "normal music" through their PA inbetween. Or 1 big set then a DJ for the rest of the night
