Barista Coffee stand/cart

Me!!, 9 June, 2022 at 10:10 Posted on Planning 0 2

Hi

Has anyone used a Barista Coffee stand/cart for your wedding or thinking of doing it?

What price did you pay? Did guests like it? What time did you have them and how long for? Did you have unlimited drinks or 1 cup per person?

Hubby loves coffee and thinking this would be a great thing to have!

We looked into a coffee cart for ours and ended up really glad we did. A few practical things we learned: most coffee suppliers quote either per-hour with a barista or per-cup, so it's worth asking how they price it. We had ours for about 5 hours during [the drinks reception / after dinner], which seemed to be the sweet spot when people had a lull. We went with unlimited rather than one-per-person, guests definitely came back for seconds, so a cap might've felt a bit mean. If your hubby's the coffee fan, getting a supplier who'll do proper flat whites and lattes (not just filter) is what people tend to remember. Worth asking around for a coffee supplier highly recommended by people who've actually used one is gold.

I did the coffee cart for my wedding two years ago and honestly it was one of the best decisions we made. We had them for 3 hours during the evening and did unlimited drinks, which I think was the way to go—guests loved being able to grab a cappuccino or latte after dinner instead of just tea or instant. We paid around £350 for the barista service for our 80 guests, which felt reasonable considering how much people enjoyed it. One thing I learned is that a lot of the newer setups actually use a table top coffee machine that can be placed on any catering table, so you aren't limited by needing a full cart or a massive setup space. Definitely check with your caterer about timing because you want the cart to be available right after the meal when people are looking for that pick-me-up. Some companies offer 1 cup per person packages but unlimited works out better because you have those guests who will want two or three over the evening. Most vendors are open to customising the menu too, so you can include decaf and syrups for variety.
