Barns, Marquees, outdoor venues in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire or Derbyshire?????

fayeandpaul2014, 13 May, 2013 at 20:26 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi there

Does anyone out there know of any pretty locations in the above areas that fit the bill of a barn conversion, outside wedding venue or land that either has or will allow a marquee to be erected? Any friendly farmers with those facilities? We just don't know how to go about finding out whether any country houses, homes, farms, stately homes in the area would allow a marquee to be set up or already have one that we could use a private caterer etc and really put our own stamp on the day....alternatively any nice barn conversions that are a blank canvas....

Thanks so much in advance for any help!!

Faye and Paul x

Donington park farmhouse hotel. We got married there. It's a farm with barns, the food is from the farm. The also have rooms and a campsite.

We had a BBQ, they're not too expensive either.

I'd get Googling. There's not much that isn't listed nowadays

    Hi,

A good friend of mine is getting married here in October:

    https://mythebarn-weddings.co.uk/the-venue.aspx

She lives in Leicester and it isn't far away- it's a new barn venue and there is an option to get married outside. It looks stunning!

    Hope it helps

I have another one to try for you - its Tithe Barn at the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre.

This was taken as they arrived gives you an idea of the setting, the church in the distance is Bosworth Church where they got married so this was a shot I wanted, although I had to photoshop out 6 other cars that were following behind(Grrr )

Perhaps I should add that the centre could well be open to the public at the same time, --best ask them

I'm a park farmhouse bride, try and go on a Sat morning when they are set up for a wedding. Makes so much difference. And make sure they put the fairy lights in for you. They have a few photo albums you can look throufh for inspiration too. We are thinking about having the BBQ, not 100% sure though as being paranoid about what people will think

If Northamptonshire is not too far away try Hunsbury Hill Centre as they have a selection of barns that you get full use of and allow marquees
