Beach or villa wedding abroad - Help!

Laura, 26 February, 2025 at 16:59 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 1 1

Hello,

I am recently engaged, and my fiance and I are wanting to have a sunny beach or villa wedding abroad. (about 60 guests) We are really struggling to figure out how to make a real start with this. I have spoken with someone and Ionion Weddings (Are they any good??!?) but nothing is jumping out at us.

How do people normally plan abroad weddings? Do we have to have a wedding planner to avoid all of the stress? We don't have a massive budget so a wedding planner doesn't suit our financial situation but would love some help.

Any guidance would be really appreciated Smiley heart

    Hello,

Congratulations on your engagement! Planning a destination wedding can be exciting, but it's understandable that you're feeling a bit overwhelmed. Let's break down how people typically approach this and explore some budget-friendly options. NJ E-ZPass

How People Normally Plan Abroad Weddings:

    Destination Selection:

Start by narrowing down your destination based on your budget, desired ambiance, and accessibility for your guests. Popular choices include:

Mediterranean countries (Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal)

    Caribbean islands

    Mexico

    Southeast Asia (Thailand, Bali)

    Consider factors like:

Flight costs and travel time for guests.

Legal requirements for marriage in that country.

    The time of year (weather).

    Availability of venues and vendors.

    Budgeting:

Set a realistic budget and allocate funds for:

    Venue rental

    Food and drinks

    Flights and accommodation for yourselves

    Photography and videography

    Flowers and decorations

    Entertainment

    Wedding attire

    Legal paperwork.

    Best Regards
