Been overpaid by £1000! Sort of.

My work have mucked up my wages/benefits package for the 2nd month in a row. In March I took £800 in John Lewis vouchers out of my bonus as part f my pay and cancelled it the next month but it still got put through, I managed to speak to HR in time though and they stopped it and I got paid normally - great. Except they mucked it up again THIS month, my heart sank when the postie came and I saw a big envelope full of vouchers, but then got my payslip and I've been paid AND they've sent the vouchers - £800 JL vouchers and £200 Asda vouchers (that I usually get, but hasn't been taken out of my pay this month!)

So of COURSE I will send them back, I know they're not mine to keep but for a fleeting nanosecond I could see why people do keep ? when this kind of thing happens to them!

I just hope they sort it next month, I am fed up of all this carry on.

I'd keep them, dont spend them, and wait to see what happens next month.

Hand back the JLs like a good employee but deny all knowledge of any Asda ones - we have NO idea where they could have gone ?

I'd keep hold of the vouchers, don't spend them and call HR/payroll and tell them what's happened. See what they recommend. Wait for them to tell you what to do. If they are so inept they forget to ask for them back, then that's their loss. They seem to be inept in other areas, here's hoping!

Haven't signed for them, believe it or not they just send that volume of vouchers through the normal mail! They all have serial numbers, though, so I imagine it wouldn't be difficult to trace them or cancel them. In fact I suppose they could already have cancelled them, I won't know till I get to speak to HR.

I've got no intention of hanging onto any of them, the last thing I'd want to do is spend them and then a year later they are after me for £1000. Could do without that!
