Bellini..where can I get the peach bit?

Sare, 15 May, 2008 at 20:54 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 16

I'm going to a friend's house for a "Cocktail Sleepover" tommorrow and I said I'd make Bellini's.

I have Prosecco but I know the proper version is made with white peach puree, which I can't get hold of .I'd make a bastardised version with peach juice but I don't seem to be able to find anywhere that sells peach juice on it's own.

Has anyone any ideas? I've found mango nectar and wondered if that would mix well?

Try M&S or Waitrose - chilled or ambient.

I've bought peach juice in Waitrose before - with the bottled juices etc.

Thanks all.We don't have Waitrose here, we're far too common, but we do have M&S.

The online places look ideal, but typical me, I've left it too late.I'll see if anywhere stocks them locally though.

I don't have to do bellinis, but I thought they sounded quite light and easy to make.

We don't have Lidl, but do have Aldi (and friend is manager so I'll ask her!)

I'm kicking myself for not buying it sooner. Those Funkin purees are perfect, it's even white peach, but nowhere here stocks them.

Are peaches available yet over there? I've seen them here. You could just puree some yourself.

Wouldnt it just be less hassle to buy some peaches and puree them?

I'm a big BIG fan of cocktails. Half my food cupboards are taken up with cocktail ingredients. ?

If you can't get the Funkin Peach Puree, there are other things you can do with Prosecco that are really nice! You could blend some (frozen or fresh) raspberries with apple juice, spoon a little into the bottom of each glass, fill up with Prosecco and garnish with whole raspberries.

Similar things can be done with any soft friut such as ripe mango.

Good luck searching for the peach puree! They used to do it in my local Tesco, but I've not seen it there in some time.

If you cannot discover peach juice, attempt searching for peach nectar or syrup in the store. These can be used as an alternative to white peach puree in your bellinis. If you cannot discover any, mango nectar ought to be a proper substitute, even though it's going to supply the drink with an exceptional taste. You may want to additionally strive for canned or frozen peaches that you can combine into a puree. Check distinctiveness shops or ask your buddy if they have any peach-flavored components you can use.
