Best Foundation?

smilesjp, 9 July, 2014 at 17:02 Posted on Planning 0 17

I have pretty sensitive skin, so during the day i just use a simple mineral foundation. The only issue is it doesn't last all day, and I'm after a foundation that will require as little touch up as possible. I'm just recovering from a bout of acne, but my skin is all clear now. I'm not against using liquid, but I still have pretty oily skin... I dont really care how much I spend! Anyone have any ideas?

I have been using a foundation from Este Lauder which is amazing. Stays on all day, especially in this heat at the moment, I needed it! Most of the Este Lauder range of foundation is worth a try Smiley smile

I have oily skin and I use this......

    http://www.clinique.co.uk/product/1599/21954/Makeup/Foundations/Stay-Matte-Oil-Free-Makeup/index.tmpl

It's amazing! I put it on in the morning at about 6:30 and then I don't take it off till I am home say 7pm ish - some days I wear it for longer if I go to the gym after work!

You only need to apply the smallest of blobs into your hand and then use the foundation brush to apply to the face! It;s honestly amazing and the best foundation i have ever used (And i've tried a lot to cure this oily skin shiny face malarkey!) x

Bare minirals is the best! It's £50 for a box set comes with brushes blusher and of course the powder foundation! My sister has oily skin and mine kind of dry and dull but it gives us both a really great glow and even if you sweat it stas in place. It dosnt look like powder at all.

If I could afford my own set I'd use it every day but at the moment unless a money tree grows in my garden I'll be useing my sisters. A friend of hers uses it and says the pot may seem small but last ages.

I use a Lancome Teint Idole 24 hour which I've found is the only foundation that stays on all day for me. I also use their primer and a Clarins spray that sets makeup.

I've bought the Mac Matchmaster for my skin. It's a light reflecting one, or some jargon like that. It's nice because it doesn't look too much like you're wearing make up, but does even the skin tone. And you justa pply however much you are comfortable with wearing. They have a great range of shades too, and the shop girls are always on hand to colour match you.

A bottle of it was £28 - it's a generous sized bottle too. But I would recommend going and getting them to colour test your skin for it so you get exactly the right tone.

My skin is sensitive too, and I am prone to rashes and the like, and dryness, but this hasn't upset my skin, it stays on, and wasn't a nightmare to take off either. Just face wipes needed.

I've been trying various different foundations recently, tried 4 different Clinique ones but wasn't really impressed to be honest even though I have used them before.

I am sticking with dream matte mousse as I just can't find anything else that gives as good coverage and stops me being shiny.

I was thinking of trying Lush - it's a base rather than foundation, so you mix it with moisturiser. The other possibility is that Sheer Cover stuff they advertise on TV, but it's expensive.

I use No7. I wore the stay perfect foundation for my wedding and it was brilliant. I normally use their beautifully matt foundation and that's great too. Both stay put pretty well.

I did buy the Clarins fix make up spray for our wedding and it was amazing!

I used Chanel Vital Lumerie on my wedding day and used it for years afterwards as I was really happy with it. However I've recently changed to No 7 Stay Perfect and I actually think its better than Chanel. Def worth going into and asking them to put your base on for you to see how you feel it lasts etc. Having tried loads, I also think No 7 Intense Volume mascara is the best around.

Foundation can last all day (even yours) if you have a good primer. I usually reccommend one from MAC. It sets up the face as a base coat and means the foundation will set better on the face. Setting it with their mineralise powder is great too and will ensure a longer lasting finish.

If you suffer from sensitive skin I would reccomend going to Bare Minerals and having a consultation with them. Their products are great with only natural ingredients. Xx

I have sensitive skin (probe to rosacea) and found Bare Minerals a nightmare. Within an hour of application my skin felt tight and tingly (I tried it two or three times just to check it was that). So I know everyone raves about it but I regard it as evil Smiley smile

I used to use Bare Minerals, but on my dry skin it looked too powdery after an hour or so. I'm currently using Shu Uemura foundation and primer. It lasts really well, tones beautifully with my skin, and it doesn't make my skin feel dry or look powdery.

I agree it's not always the foundation but invest in a good primer. I use benefit primer and foundation and find it really stays on. Worth popping into debenhams and getting a few places to give u a demo xx

For sensitive, oily skin recovering from acne, consider a matte liquid foundation that’s oil-free and offers long-lasting coverage. Stick foundations can also provide full coverage with good staying power. If you prefer mineral options, look for high-coverage formulas designed for longevity. To enhance durability, use a setting spray or translucent powder from your makeup kit to lock in your makeup. Additionally, applying an oil-control primer from your skincare products beforehand can help minimize shine and extend wear. Always patch test new products to ensure they suit your skin.
