Biodegradable confetti

Emma, 23 of May of 2021 at 15:39 Posted on Planning 0 14
Where is the cheapest place I can find biodegradable confetti? There will be around 45 quests at our wedding so I'm planning on buying enough for at least 25 people, Thanks in advance!

I don’t have a response for you but have you tried with your florist? Ours is providing biodegradable confetti for us.

There’s loads on Etsy that I think are quite reasonably priced, there’s one I emailed and could put whenever I wanted and they would ship them closer to my wedding date

This sounds like an amazing idea! This may be a silly question but would home made confetti be biodegradable? I’m due to get married next May - if I started doing this now would it last?

I think I’m going to use ‘dollz confetti’ it’s about 80p a packet (including the packet which you can personalise) and you can pick the confetti colours depending on your scheme. All full biodegradable too!

Wow that is very reasonable! Do you know how much you get in each packet?

I’ve not bought them as yet but I believe they are a one person ‘portion’. You can buy also empty packets and big bags of confetti off their website - I’m not sure if it’s more purse strings friendly doing it that way?!

Paper is bio degradable like the stuff you can buy that has bell and horseshoe shapes. But if a venue says it must be bio degradable then they generally mean dried petals. There are some venues that will withhold a portion of your damage deposit if you do not use bio degradable.

Be especially aware of the exploding confetti cannons as they tend to have plastic confetti.

One thing overlooked is that you can just use freshly plucked petals no need to dry them and they will throw better as they are heavier and will look better on the photos as they will be bigger.

One possible issue though is that depending on the colour fresh petals could stain if they get trapped in your dress and rubbed. Perhaps do some tests to find out.

A simple cheap way to use confetti is to make cones out of paper doilies. like this
