Bit of a long-shot. Can you help me find a piece of china?

Peaches, 30 July, 2009 at 15:02 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 9

It's this - a wonderfully priceless (as in cheap!) soup bowl from Tesco.

Bought it about 10 years ago, and now I need a replacement bowl, but can't find one anywhere.

Can anyone ?

Thanks!

It looks really familiar... I'm not sure why.

Although given the olive and the pasta words around the edge I'd try googling pasta bowl rather than soup bowl.

What China replacement sites do you use? I used to use dishmatchers, com, but I think they have gone out of business as their website has vanished.

this is closest i've got. I'm sure Argos and Dunelm used to do something similar.

I agree re it being a pasta bowl, not soup.

I've just looked on 10 different discontinued sites and I'm afraid these aren't on any. What are they made of and what's the name of the range?

Ha! Never thought of it as a pasta bowl lol .. we've got the set comprising of dinner plates, side plates, cereal bowls, soup/pasta bowls, serving bowls and dishes and plates .. and I'm sure there was more in the range at the time.

I saw them in Woolworths one time and got some extra bits, but the pattern is slightly different.

This is what's on the back of all of them

Thanks for looking guys. I have a feeling this is a lost cause though ?

You're kidding! I did too and got nothing. Do you have a speshul google? <stamps foot> I want a speshul google too that finds what I'm looking for.

Google automatically weights the results based on geographical location so someone in the UK will receive different results to what we get int he US. If I want to seach in the UK, I use google.co.uk and set it to search pages in the UK only (under advanced search)

BG, I did that, and nothing came up at all.

Now I know the manufacturer's name, I have found sites here in the US that do replacements, although they don't actually have that piece in stock, so would be shipping from the UK I'd imagine.

I can order it, get it sent to Mum, and she can bring with her when she visits in September.

Was it you who asked which replacement sites I'd been using? This one is the one I'd tried, but as I only knew what was on the back of the set, I wasn't successful. Glad Holio was able to find it and pin-point who made it ?
