I saw a dress on jjhouse that I thought was beautiful but someone I know said they weren't a very good site - may rethink it now! X

U could try different search options like gothic dresses, or black ball gown or black party dresses. Alternatively if you're willing to pay you could find a dress maker/seamstress and then a wedding dress pattern and they can make it in any colour, there are some lovely ballgown patterns from the 1950s. Good luck
