Blessing after a civil ceremony?

mrshopper2b, 29 of December of 2011 at 14:08 Posted on Planning 0 1

We are having a civil ceremony at a registered venue and wanted to have a blessing done afterwards, which the venue are fine with. Has anyone been to a wedding when this was done or have any ideas on the best way to structure it - I don't want guests to feel they are going back and forth or having to sit through two ceremonies, so will keep them both brief, but not sure how best to do it logistically?

I would just have the blessing following immediately after the wedding civil ceremony. You could get one of the ushers to say a few words in between so people know what's going on, or just give everyone an order of the day with the details in.

Totall agree with kharv but would add that you have to wait until the registrars are completely off the premises before the blessing begins.
