So on Friday they were supposed to pick up our package by 1pm, didn't do so until 4pm, which caused a whole bunch of problems that day. This package contains our entries for some very important industry awards (where I actually think I might stand a chance of winning something this year) and was supposed to arrive at its destination today.
I have a look at the tracking system and notice "SERVICE DISRUPTION OCCURRED / RETURNED TO SHIPPER" which was put on today at 3.20pm WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At first they blamed it on adverse weather conditions, hurricanes. Yeah right (it was going to Pennsylvania)!
With a bit more research they said it had something to do with not enough information and that US customs would not let it pass to go on the plane. It is apparently not enough to just put on what's in the package, you also need to put on a reason why you are sending it. Their website only asked me what was in it, not for a reason. So if it doesn't tell me I need to put in a reason for sending, how the hell am I supposed to know I should put in a reason. Bloody idiots. And they only bother to put it on the tracking system now, why not earlier today or yesterday or on Saturday. So tomorrow morning the package is supposed to come back to me and the driver will then tell me what needs to be on there. And it will then be picked up again later in the day. They say it will still arrive by Thursday which is the deadline. I could have just sent it by normal mail, which is a lot less hassle and a whole lot cheaper and doesn't need all that bullsh!t on the package. But no, I decided to send it with UPS so it would be guaranteed to arrive in time, giving me some peace of mind. How wrong was I???
Guess how many more times I'll be sending something with UPS?
