For those of you who have done this did you wear your actual wedding underwear? Any hints or tips would be welcome x

It's not something I specialise in, so I did a quick Google for you and this page offers a few tips on choosing a boudoir photographer http://mirrorimageboudoir.co.uk/index.php/how-to-choose-a-boudoir-photographer/ . I'd also try and do as much as possible to add extra emotional meaning to the photographs. What I mean by that is by wearing jewellery or underwear that has special significance and perhaps having them created somewhere that you have an emotional connection to - your home, or even a secret location outside that you love to go to for picnics, for example. Hope that helps.

I have just booked a boudoir shoot for June, when's yours?

I was planning on taking a few outfits as I can change a couple of times, but that is definitely going to include my wedding underwear. I wanted it to be like a bit of a sneak peak on the morning of the wedding.

A range of options with "clothing" is usually the best way to go.......

I run a Boudoir photography company and have done for years but I just wanted to say make sure you do your research in to the company you go with.

Hey, how did your shoot go? I'm thinking of booking one for later in the year. I'd love some photos with my veil but I'd be petrified that I'd snag it or damage it in some way!

I second that. For Valentines Day last year my husband to be bought me a couples photoshoot as we are both very camera shy and had up to then no photos of us together. It was supposed to be a romantic shoot, a kind of belated engagement shoot. The photographer looked down on us from the off as we weren't the polished models he's used to (I'd just had our baby for heaven's sake). Despite this and having our young baby with us the photographer tried to push both of us, but more especially me into doing half naked shots (not what we were told beforehand) in our underwear. I told him no chance, especially not when I'm a nursing mum whose only recently given birth and we'd already informed him that we both have very low confidence. To be quite honest we felt he was lecherous and somewhat sinister. Luckily my husband to be is 6ft 4 and built like a bouncer so he thought better of messing with him but I would have been terrified if I'd had a solo shoot with him and woukdn't have known how to escape.

He was unprofessional in bullying us to order extra photos and his manner changed immediately when we made it clear we only wanted the one we had asked for. No call to say the photograph was ready. Eventually 6 months later they posted it to us.

Always always do your research and go with a reputable photographer, preferably not alone and don't stay if they don't maks you feel 100% safe and comfortable!
