How many of you are having photographs taken during your bridal preparations? We have spoken to our photographer and he has offered to be there all day. But i don't know i i want the added stress of posing for photographs whilst trying to get ready. Opinions please

My daughter had this as part of her package but she was getting ready at the venue rather than at home. There are some arty shots of the dress and champagne glasses and views from the window as well as some really nice relaxed looking shots of Alex getting her make up done and being laced up into her dress. There's a couple that she asked to be taken out of the DVD of her looking a bit ropey without make up and photos with her hair flat etc which the photographer gladly removed. We barely knew that the photographer was there to be honest as we were all busy and excited ourselves. She was very good and rather than stay there permanently, she kept popping in and out ad hoc. Because getting ready takes quite a lot of the time up on the day, it was nice for the other close family members (Grandma's etc) to see what went on before she walked down the aisle as they only saw her for a short while before the wedding.

The Bridal preparations are a very intimate and personal part of the day and being a professional wedding photographer I feel "priviliged".

It is not something one takes lightly as these are the special moments a Bride spends getting ready with her Bridesmaids, parents and closest friends.

It is not about what you look like without makeup on, or indeed "my hubby knows what I look like", it is a SPECIAL part of the day, and hopefully the images I take reflect this.

    Regards,

    Dean

I had some done. One of our mates was our photographer and he just came over half way through. I got my hair done about 12.30pm, think he got there around 1.00pm ish.

He took a few of me getting my hair done, some arty shots of my dress, shoes, earrings etc, got a few of me finishing up my makeup and checking my hair and then some of the girls lacing me up. I only had one posed shot...

    The posed shot! ?

    I'm not having any taken.

Can't say i'm too fussed about having pics of myself getting ready, or of my dress hanging up!! Plus, I pull really stupid faces when putting my make-up on, which only OH is allowed to see. Don't want any pics of that!!!

If my tog included this sort of thing, i'd just ask that s/he took pics of my kids instead.

Definately - its an important part of the day for me. He will come to beauticians, then to OH dad house for some of the boys getting ready, then to my house for me gettin in my dress etc....Im lookin forward to it, I want all the details remembered.

Im also gettin an 'un-edited' video as well as the norm with music etc because I want reminded / shown all the goings on that morning, what people are saying etc. I know not all of the video has music playing but about 80% has & i want the best of both worlds & to have everything - I only intend to do it the once!

Awww, Thanks Hollie! I had major issues with my hair. I originally said I didn't want it down or half up half down. Tried and updo and didn't like it and then was a bit stuck!

I ended up with a half half-up do instead and have to say, I loved it. I'd had a couple of trials and none had gone well so I sat in the chair on my wedding day not knowing what the hell it would turn out like!

I basically wanted the front to be down and pulled some back to take the weight of it off my face and give me something to put my veil in.
