Bridal shoes, where did you get yours?

tealbutterfly27, 5 August, 2013 at 19:40 Posted on Planning 0 51

Hi all,

Just wondered where people were getting their bridal shoes? I'm going for comfort over style as they won't be seen. Looking for a mid-heel. I always have difficulty with really lovely shoes as I'm tall and a size 8 but slim feet!!

Any recommendations?

Mine are irregular choice but not traditional bridal shoes - they're blue with a big pink flower!

I had my heart set on a pair of Rachel Simpson shoes but I couldn't justify the price, though I still may get them! Ended up buying a pair from debenhams for £21 in the sale. They're lovely, though I have to wait and see if they definitely go with my dress. Debenhams have a sale online on their shoes, they've been reduced even more since I last looked! I was secretly chuffed when I bought this month's Wedding Ideas magazine and saw my shoes in there :-)

Mine are Rainbow Club, got them in the sale from Elegant Steps. They have loads of styles and they do half sizes which was important for me.

I got mine from Debenhams. It was quite an accident. I had trawled for ages looking for shoes, and couldnt decide if I wanted wedding type shoes or something different. In the end I found some which was £16 down from £32. Mum said they would at least be a back up if I couldnt find any others...anyway I got them home and love them now, They are ivory, a slight pointed toe with a ruffle of the front and sling back, mid heel. cant be seen under dress anyway. They are comfy and didnt break the bank.Good luck!

Hi, I got mine from ebay. They were less than a quarter of the price of the ones I liked from rainbow club! Fingers crossed they are as nice as they look when they arrive, but worse case scenario is I will re-sell them back on there! Think it was worth the risk!

Mine are Debenhams, they cost me £7.80 in the sale and have a small heel (maybe too small for my dress - I'm trying to avoid paying to get the hem taken up - but I'll find out next week!)

    Mine are from Carvella.

They've got a little hidden mini platform so I get a bit of height without the heels killing me. They are so comfortable!

Haven't got mine yet or dress either but hoping to get some in the sale like the Debenhams ones or something, getting customised converse for the reception at least and seriously considering having them for daytime as well Smiley smile

Irregular Choice for me too ;-) I've bought two pairs already, ooops, but like you I'm tall with size 8 feet and these are really comfy with a small heel.

I'm struggling for shoes.... Just checked out the Rachel Simpson site and don't really like any of them! The pair of shoes I fell in love with are jimmy choos but not sure i can justify spending 400£ on a pair of heels I'll prob kick of after photographs.....

I guess I got time to find the perfect pair!

I have two one pair of pretty high ones from moda in pelle and a lower heeled pair from debenhams which were in the sale. They were a bit boring to me so I have customised them by sewing flowers onto them.

Mine were £17.50 in the Debenhams sale. I'm just under 6ft and wanted flat shoes and these are so pretty. I've worn their mid heel shoes before as well and have always been comfortable.

Just got mine from the bridal shop where I got my dress. I HATE HATE HATE shoe shopping (I'd live in trainers if I could) and they looked OK so killed 2 birds with one stone! Am having them dyed bright yellow though. ?

Hurrah! I have size 9 feet too, which did prove difficult when it came to wedding shoe shopping and probably contributes to my hatred of shoe shopping in general. I would have gone for trainers / flats (as it's all I ever wear anyway being 5'10") BUT I then went and bought a tea-length dress and trainers just didn't look right. The difference a very slight heel made was very noticeable, so I went for them! They look like this but in bright, buttercup yellow:

And I have these shoe clips to attach to the front! (the hearts- the swallows are the BMs hairclips):

Seen a pair of vintage ones I love but £150 just to wear for a day? I don't even have a dress yet and less than 60 days until the day!

I have these: in a size 8 for sale as the heel was too high for me (a perk of being 5ft11, my dress is too short with anything other than flats) which is a real shame because i am completely in love with them!!

Edit: they are Irregular Choice - Nanny Nuts

Mine are from Debenhams. I'm a size 8 and I couldn't have a very big heel as my OH is the same height as me and I didn't want to be too much taller than him. My friend got married last week, she's a size 9 and she was wearing exactly the same shoes as mine!

Hi all, I've been 'lurking' for a few weeks but haven't (for some unknown reason) signed in until now! I am getting married 9/8/13 (yes..the day after tomorrow!!)

I am wearing these beauts. Super comfy, and seeing them in the flesh, you wouldn't think they're from Quiz They're a snip at under £25...

Hmmmm love them but not the price tag... If I going to splurge on these may as well go all out and spend a little extra on jimmy choos right?

I've ordered rachel Simpson Katie for my wedding. I'm also a size 8 with slim feet. I'm 5'11 so didn't want anything too high. They haven't arrived yet so I can't comment yet on what they're like! X
