Bridesmaid cover ups

Fiona, 12 September, 2023 at 15:47 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 7
Hello! I'm getting married in late October in London and have five lovely bridesmaids all wearing a Rewritten wrap dress with floaty sleeves falling just above the elbow. I have been toying getting little fur jackets but there are not loads about. What are other people doing about cover ups/are they necessary?
Our wedding is town hall followed by brewery reception so minimal outdoor time during the ceremony/pictures and they could potentially wear whatever they wanted in the evening to go outside the venue

I've been to a couple of December weddings and the bridesmaids had those really big scarves that are more like shawls - they come in loads of different colours and aren't expensive.

I agree with the comments so far. I have a large scarf which reaches from my shoulders to my waist when I use it as a shawl. It's a soft pink so I find goes with most of my wedding guest outfits so it's a staple part of my outfit for weddings. It's something that your bridesmaids will get continued use of after your wedding so is an extra gift for them.

The big scarf/ shawls are the best option, cost wise also if you are buying them. Matching colours means that you can keep them on for the photos and if you would prefer the photos without them then they are easily whipped off at the last minute for the photo - and then back on again.

As they are bridesmaids they are likely to be in more photos than other guests so anything you can do to try and keep them warm is good.

Another vote for a shawl - those little fur bolero type things are very dated now!
