Bridesmaid dress prices

Charlotte, 6 January, 2022 at 13:09 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 4
Hi everyone
Does anyone know rough prices for bridesmaid dresses for Dessy / Linzi Jay / Bill Levkoff please ?

I’ve booked some dress shopping with my bridesmaids and the shop said they were ‘affordable’ but I’ve since seen a comment saying these brands are really expensive !
My bridesmaids both have extremely expensive taste and are guaranteed to go for the most expensive one in the shop. I had budgeted £200 each ans am seriously worried now I’ve messed up with the shop I’ve chosen 😬😬😬

Looking online Linzi Jay are between 190-240 each, and Bill Levkiff 200-250, Dessy don't have prices but would think they are similar. You also need to consider accessories costs like shoes, so not sure if you are paying and if this is in your 200 budget or not. I would ask the shop to give you their average pricing, or what do they start from. If you are not comfortable then cancel the appointment as once they have tried on the more expensive ones it will be hard to get them to look at alternatives. Maybe look at Wed2Be or small local run boutiques as often they hold cheaper stock.

Your BM's may have expensive taste but it is your wedding and your choice and if you think it is too much then you have to tell them, they should appreciate you are paying so is your choice. Or tell them you have a max budget of X for the dress and shoes so if the dress they really want is more then they will have to pay the difference, which is not unreasonable. IMO £200 is a lot for one dress, we got ours on monsoon at £100 each, I told my BM's as the dresses are long they can wear their own shoes as long as they are silver, which they have agreed to as they have pairs already that are comfy so no need for a whole new pair for one day

I can’t comment about the prices of any of these unfortunately but there is a very lovely online brand called TH&TH which looks very classy and high end which does beautiful dresses in a range of colours. They don’t have as big a range as somewhere like Dessy but depending on the dresses you liked you’d be within your budget.

I have to say I've had a quick look and I would be very dubious about a site without prices! Wed2b might not have the same colours but I was very impressed with them when we went and they were only £80. Very reasonable.

Hi there - I went for Dessy dresses because me and my bridesmaids are all located in different countries but they both had a stockist within a couple of hours drive so they could try on the same dresses separately. I think it varies slightly between stockists, but my bridesmaids dresses were between £150-200 (excluding alterations) and are really good quality. Hope that helps.
