I want to get through as many places as possible in the shortest possible time. Does anyone have tips tips of where to start :-)

My top 3 would be; Monsoon, Debenhams, BHS

What sort of dresses are you looking for? Monsoon has absolutely stunning flower girl dresses too x

I went bridesmaid shopping in Trafford Centre and came away empty handed as it wasn't that good. I am trying to dress two fussy teenagers though. Monsoon, coast and Debenhams aren't far from each other. Selfridges had nothing as did John Lewis if you want to skip them. Didn't try BHS (see the teenagers comment previously!) Good Luck!

Oh God, I hate that place with a passion. Sorry, that's not really helpful. My only advice is: wear comfortable shoes and layers, it's always SO WARM in there.

Another Manc here - I also hate that place. Be prepared to make a day of it and be trampled on. Make lots of stops for tea and cake or have a nice lunch mid way (plenty of restaurants to choose from) ... maybe try and go on a quiet day?

What about Cheshire Oaks? I've not been myself but can't imagine it'll be as awful as TC

I went to TC (went to Debenhams/M&S/BHS/Monsoon/Coast/John Lewis) with five bridesmaids and unsurprisingly came away with nothing but it did give me an insight into what I wanted and also what they liked/disliked, so it wasn’t a wasted trip. If I could do it again though, I’d have just taken them into Manchester – it isn’t much more of a walk, plus not as hot (layers, as recommended by another very sensible poster, are essential, as are comfy shoes). I ended up buying dress from M&S, online, in the sale.

I would look online first, get an idea of what’s around at the moment, maybe even print off pictures of some dresses you like. Look at the TC website and get an idea of the layout and write down which shops you want to visit and where they are. Visit them in order, and try not to get distracted. Don’t spend too long in each shop, be ruthless (if you really hate something, there is no point anyone trying it on) and take breaks, even if it’s just for five minutes. Also, don’t feel pressured or rushed into buying something, you can always ask the shop to hold it for you.

I did none of the above btw but this is how I would do it if I had my time again!
