Bridesmaid Dresses

Jas, 13 March, 2023 at 18:36 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 4

Hi everyone,

I was wondering what peoples experiences were with JJ's house?

I know it isn't a UK company, so what is the return like (considering my bridesmaids cant try their dresses on before hand) any info on that or customs/handling charges would be great.

Thank you in advance

I've ordered my dresses from them & have been very impressed. The quality is great & had plenty of updates along the way.
I paid the extra £20 to have them made to measure, because a couple of my bridesmaids were coming up odd measurements on the site. It meant that they're non returnable, so was a bit of a gamble, but they've turned out great. I didn't get charged any important fees, the postage cost is quite high, so might already be included in that.
I've only got a picture of my daughter in her dress, my other bridesmaids have got their own. It's a little long, but that was deliberate, because she's growing like a weed & didn't want it to end up too short if she shoots up again!Bridesmaid Dresses 1

My sister and I both used them and they were great.

Her dresses were satin and fitted perfectly. Mine are chiffon and all my bridesmaids look beautiful in them. I had to return one because it was too big, but that was easy. It was a bit annoying that I couldn’t just do a straight exchange seeing as I just wanted one size down - I had to return, wait for the refund and then order again, which slowed things down a bit, but there were no issues at all with doing the return.

I’d recommend ordering some colour swatches from them as some of the shades are slightly different to how they look on the website.

Edit: Just to add that even though they aren’t UK based, you return to a UK warehouse.

I got my junior bridesmaids dresses from here and they are lovely and well made. We made sure to measure the bridesmaids carefully beforehand and looked at the sizing guide on the website when ordering and they fit really well.

We used there try-on at home service and were impressed at the ease of it. I looked as they stocked a dupe of a dress my girls had tried on in a boutique and even custom made it would have been half the price of the one in store.

With the service you get a choice of colours available in that style and size for try on - so you might not get the colour you want to try on, but obviously you can order your specific colour when you know the size / are happy with the style etc. I believe you can also pay to keep the try on dress if it's perfect, too!

The girls tried them on in my Mum's living room, but did decide they preferred the feel, structure and subtle design difference of the one in the salon. (Useful to note here that my bridesmaids were paying for half of their dress cost). We called a few salons to enquire on price and delivery (as the first salon told us we were 'cutting it fine' to order bridesmaid dresses....in September 2022 for an August 2023 wedding....felt a little like a pushy sales tactic IMHO). Ended up saving £25 ish a dress; ordered in November and they arrived in Feb.
