Bridesmaid dresses drama

ptb13, 21 of April of 2013 at 18:18 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi

I'm hoping for some help / inspiration re. bridesmaid dresses. So far, it's been absolutely the most stressful / hardest thing to nail.

I have four bridesmaids and because one is quite tall we'd like full length dresses. I have a budget of £150 per dress max and am looking for colours like mink, dusky pink, duck egg, or peach (light). I also want to be able to see the dress in shop so I can get a feel for the quality. Seen anything that might fit the bill? I'm trying to avoid diamante, but other than that I'm quite chilled re: the style.

Really hope you can help! Thanks ?

Debenhams is a good place to start for this sort of budget and being able to actually see the dresses. Check them out online and have them sent to specific store in different sizes of needs be.

I agree that Debenhams is the best place to try (Debut has quite a few long pink dresses as does Phase Eight)

Are these any good? Most are less than £100 & all from the high street.

I tried on a lovely dusky pink maxi dress in H&M the other day...one shouldered, quite Grecian looking. I'm 5'8" and it was long enough for me to wear low heels with it.

the fit isn't amazing, and it wasn't right for what I wanted it for but for £34.99, they're pretty good!

cant find a pic online though

These are all from Monsoon and are priced between 99 - 179, they come in different colours and lengths. I think these are the type of colours you were thinking? No idea what the quality is like. They do have embellishments but I think they are on the classy side of bling. :-)

I got two floor length dessy dresses for 170 each so it's always worth shopping around and bargaining I had been quoted 245 or the same dress at another shop and 220 at the one I bought it from and just negotiated down. Try bridesmaids.com as well a lot cheaper!

    good luck!

I got my BM dresses from Moonsoon.

Although they're slightly over your budget (they were £179 each) I think it'd be worth you looking in store as they have a big range and prices differ from style to style.

I'm so pleased with the quality of my dresses too, I think highstreet is the way to go, because as you say, you can feel the quality before you buy.

Thanks so much for all your replies! The colours in pics above are bang on. Hadn't really thought abour Monsoon, have considered Coast, Hovbs, Phase EIght etc and I'm hoping when I actually go to Debenhams or John Lewis I'll like something I've seen online! I'll update when I find the prefer dress for my girls!

My actual dress is covered in lace. Should I be taking that in to consideration in terms of fabric or style for the girls dresses?
