Bridesmaid Getting Ready Outfits?

Zoe, 4 April, 2023 at 14:33 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 6
Hi everyone, I’m not really a typical girly girl bride - and wasn’t going to get matching robes for my bridesmaids presents (I’ve got them earrings instead). But now I’m panicking about whether I should be getting them all something to wear whilst we get ready. I’m honestly not fussed, but I feel like there’s pressure as the photographers are there whilst we get ready (also not happy about this 😂). Advice please??

Could you maybe ask them to wear certain coloured pjs that they already own, that way everyone looks similar and put together but they are also wearing clothes they are comfortable in/already own? x

But if you arent fussed about it then don't feel like you have to!

I would agree with AJX, i didnt do them as i found the cheaper ones were not great quality and then they got ridiculously expensive for one day. We all wore similar style in the same colour PJ's, make sure they are button up tops as anything that goes over your head could mess up hair and make up. Maybe look at Primark as they do Bridal PJ's so may be able to pick some up cheap in there

regard the Photographer, if you feel uncomfortable dont have then there, or make it clear where you are happy for them to take pics, they are normally fairly un obtrusive and mainly take pics of the dress and shoes in a fancy position

    1) You don't have to have matching anything for your bridesmaids - to be honest, I'm not a fan of the matching PJ/robe thing anyway, as I think it's a bit of a waste of money and I'd rather see people as individuals than part of a uniform group.

    2) If you don't want to have getting ready shots, don't have them. You'll still have to pay for that part of the day if you've booked it, but there is no law that says you have to have someone photographing the getting ready part. You can always ask the photographer to wait outside and take some photos as you get ready to leave the room, or just say that you don't want any getting ready shots at all. It's only become a thing quite recently - years ago, you just had photos getting out of the car at the venue and those were the first ones.

Thanks everyone! I’ve decided I won’t get the matching outfits as they sort of cringe me out - but I’ll message the bridemaids to let them know the photographer will be there taking photos so wear something cute! 😂

I must admin I’m the same and also hate waste! Have you thought about just some matching coloured sets from Primark or something? They’ve got some lovely nice quality bridal bits in their at the moment and that way they can be used again too x
