Bridesmaid Help

Romany, 30 June, 2025 at 13:20 Posted on Wedding Attire 0 9

Hiya!

I’m getting married August 2026 so I know I have plenty of time to think about dresses etc but I just wanted some opinions! My bridal party consists of; Flower girl - will be 2. Bridesmaids - will be 1 and 5 and Maid of honour - will be 15.I know they may seem like untraditional ages but our ceremony only consists of family, so I wanted my daughter as my flower girl, my nieces as my bridesmaids and my sister as my maid of honour. So I wanted to do a wisteria and sage wedding theme, and I was wondering if it’d look right for them to wear different styles and colours? With the age differences different styles would be a must.. I’d want my bridesmaids matching but maid of honour and flower girl will stand out.

None of these are set in stone as I have just under a year yet to get them ordered, but I was wondering if it’d look too mismatched to have them so different this way? The groomsmen will wear wisteria tie and my finance will wear sage to try and even it out.
These dresses are from Azazie - has anyone ordered from there before? If so are they any good? And can alterations be made once the dresses have been brought? With my youngest bridesmaid being around 17 months at the time of our wedding I reckon hers will need adjusting.
Are there any other shops that are recommended?
Many thanks!

Congratulations on your August 2026 wedding! Your idea to have your family bridal party (daughter as flower girl, nieces as bridesmaids, sister as Maid of Honor) wear different styles and colors within a wisteria and sage theme is an excellent choice. Given the age differences, varied styles are a must for comfort and appropriateness, and having liteblue usps bridesmaids match while the Maid of Honor and flower girl stand out will look beautiful and cohesive, united by your chosen color palette and coordinated accessories.

    Hi Romany!

We did sage and lavender for our wedding, but I ended up sacking off the lavender in the dresses as it kept coming out as too pink?! I just ended up having lavender highlights elsewhere, and lavender and purple flowers in my floristry arrangements. Just worth thinking about as the colours quite often don't match the online picture.

I removed the lavender from the dresses since it looked too pink for our sage and lavender wedding. The only thing that changed was that I started using lavender accents everywhere and purple and lavender flowers in my floral arrangements. It is worth considering, since the colors do not always correspond to the web image.

Congrats on the wedding! Your bridal party sounds so sweet with those age ranges! Getting everyone coordinated on the big day, especially the little ones, might feel like a real challenge. You'll need all the patience; it could almost be like a bad time simulator game trying to get everyone ready!

These colors work beautifully together and can create a soft tap tap shots , romantic atmosphere. You could have the bridesmaids in varying shades of sage, while the flower girl could wear a lighter or pastel version of wisteria. Your maid of honour could wear a slightly darker shade of wisteria or a complementary color that ties everything together.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding — your wisteria and sage theme sounds absolutely lovely.

Having different ages in your bridal party is completely normal, and using different dress styles actually works really well when the colours belong to the same palette. It won’t look mismatched at all as long as the tones complement each other. The flower girl in a softer shade, bridesmaids in matching wisteria, and the Maid of Honour in a slightly deeper or unique style will create a really balanced look in photos.

Azazie is generally reviewed well. The quality is good for the price, and minor alterations can be done after purchase. For your youngest bridesmaid, simple adjustments like length changes are usually fine. You could also explore alternatives like JJ’s House and Ever-Pretty — both have a wide range of sizes and colours for mixed-age bridal parties.

By the way, while planning events, especially outdoor ones, reliable power can matter more than we think. I recently came across Generator Fixer website, a resource with helpful power guides for based on different locations.
