Bridesmaid make up question

Alieyah, 31 January, 2026 at 16:57 Posted on Beauty & Wellbeing 0 3
Hi all!

I have 3 bridesmaids, one of my bridesmaids everyday make up look is very, very glam (huge lashes, overlined lips, always wearing a bold colour on her lips, and dark winged eyeliner) my other 2 bridesmaids are a little more natural like myself, quite low key make up.
For my wedding I want a cohesive look between the bridesmaids, nothing over the top, no bold colours, "soft glam" is what I am going for. I then also said for the party bit they can go crazy and add more makeup and be more "bold" but for the ceremony part only I need it toned down.
I gave colour pallete which included golds, pinks, oranges, light browns etc just soft colours is the only way I can describe it.
1. Am I a bad friend or rude to ask her to tone down her everyday makeup for the ceremony part, especially knowing she wears make
2. How shall I approach it?

It's your day, do it your way, ask her, " would you mind having your makeup done for my ceremony and pictures, if she loves you she should be respectful as it's your day, try to ask rather than tell, then after say about changing whatever she wants for the reception xxx
