No one said you should have any bridesmaids. You certainly don't have to, it is totally up to you.

    Totally optional.

I didn't have any, although one of my closet friends was a witness and another provided the music for our ceremony. So if you don't want bridesmaids but still want close friends to have a role,, you could look at involving them in other ways.

I will not be having any bridemaids Smiley smile I feel at peace with my decision.

I have recently made some new friendships. I hardly know them properly so did not think it was appropriate to ask them to be my bridesmaids. So just inviting close family only no friends.

I'm not having any either 😊 people look at me like I'm nuts when I tell them but I don't really understand the point of them? I don't have a massive "girl group" of mates. I'm not in a situation where I feel I "have" to tit for tat have people because I was BM at their wedding...
I'm also not having a hen do. I also don't really understand them? I can go out (and do regularly) with my mates so, why do I need to make a big fuss and have a "special" night out? Extra expense and I'm really not fussed

Anyway! Bridesmaids. Don't think it's weird myself. Most people end up falling out with friends over this, or have them because they feel obligated to. People especially seem to take issue with me not having my 12 year old daughter as a bridesmaid. She would hate it. Just no. I'll be 40/41 when we marry and I just find it odd to have BMs of that sort of age too... Anyway!I'll still have my closest friends coming dress shopping with me *if they want* or getting ready with me on the day *if they want* I think I'll have two of my friends as witnesses too. That's it! Do whatever you want. Don't conform. Don't do things because you feel you *have* to. Keep what's important to you at the forefront of your mind and don't get swept up in "wedding-dom"

It's really down to personal choice. I'm getting married this year & I'm having my bestfriend as my bridesmaid and my daughter as a flower girl x

Do whatever you want to do-some people like to stick to every tradition going and others take the DIY approach as nowadays it doesn’t matter. I’m having my daughter as BM and my son walking me down the aisle. As long as you’ve sorted witnesses out to sign the register that’s all you need

I'm not having any bridesmaids! At first I thought I'd look like a loser and felt id have to choose people for the sake of it, but then I stopped caring what people think!
For me personally I just want all my friends there and not have to choose people to wear the same colour and have to walk down the aisle. I think buying dresses/bouquets is a bit of a waste if they're never going to wear the dress again. Then I don't want to inflict any extra money expenditure on my friends such as hair and makeup costs.
I'm having a hen do and having a friend get ready with me on the day, but I feel much more comfortable knowing there's one less thing to stress about and organise.
