Bridesmaid's dresses

Daisy, 18 February, 2021 at 12:44 Posted on Planning 1 22

Can I ask for any recommendations on where to get bridesmaid's dresses? I'm struggling to find anything I like...I don't want to spend a fortune (up to £100 per dress), and I like knee-length, but so many styles seem to be full length and really formal. Wanting to order a few styles/sizes from a reputable retailer so my bridesmaids can try on at home and we can return those we don't want. Any ideas at all, please?

I love my Victoria Lou Bridal dresses too - they’re full length but could be cut to any length and the material doesn’t need hemmed either, which will save on alterations! You can get a sample dress for the bridesmaids to try on too

My adult daughters are my BMs. Got their stunning dresses at Quiz, £70 each. High-low hem, bardot neckline, lovely colour and embroidery. Not too bridesmaidy that they couldn't wear them again.

My adult daughter is my bridesmaid so we chose a lovely dress from Quiz - perfect colour but not too wedding-y that she won't be able to wear it out (one day, after Covid ?)

I got my bridesmaid dresses online from Jarlo London. They are stunning and have 50% off a big selection of dresses at the moment. asos.com also sell Jarlo dresses so you also might find a bargain on there. Jarlo let me purchase some extra fabric so I can make the flower girl dresses to match. I hope this helps and good luck with your search.

I’m new to planning my wedding as very recently engaged! But I plan on getting bridesmaid dresses from a standard high street/online retailer. This will fit down costs as getting them from a bridal shop will hike the price up! Just think outside the box, most weddings I have been to, the bridesmaid dresses have been high street and they were stunning x

Yep, totally planning on something like this. Just wondered if anyone had recommendations of that type of thing as I can't find anything I like - everything is either too formal or too casual ?

Asos have a bridesmades section. I've found 'bridal' anything increases the price unnecessarily. I've found it helpful to think of the sryle I want then search for that. Or pick a colour and ask bridesmaids to wear any style in that colour (could even machine dye them to ensure they're the same colour) or pick a style and ask them to wear different colours.
Preloved sites may also have dresses for sale, if the bridesmaids are happy to wear preowned.

ReWritten bridesmaid dresses are really pretty and come in different styles and lengths. Not too expensive and you can order free swatches of the colours you like.

I’ve ordered mine from La Closet De Chanel. On Facebook and Instagram.
Really good prices for multi-way dresses. Lots of colours. I ordered some swatches and picked the colour from that. Can’t wait to receive

Apparently they don't do returns! I had looked at a few on there I liked but luckily checked their returns policy and they say they won't accept returns where you've bought multiple sizes or designs to find the right dress. Totally absurd policy for an online retailer and I won't be using them now!

Hey, I was looking to buy Victoria Lou dresses but wondered about alternating them, are you just going to cut them yourself? Thanks x

I’ve let the bridesmaids decide for themselves ? I do think cutting them would be fine, I’m just worried I might not make a straight line!! X
