Bridesmaids walking down the aisle before or after?

I'm having our flowergirl walk in first, then my adult bridesmaids with me, just behind me. Either me or one of the adult bms will be holding my baby daughter bridesmaid.

I had flower girl walk down with her brother who was page boy first- then me and then my bm behind me

Definately first, 1 adult BM who will coax flower girl and my 3yr old son down, then my 12yr old son then last adult BM, then me, hopefully making my 'grand entrance!!!'

Mine will be walking behind me. Its personal choice but I think in the UK the bridesmaids tend to follow the bride, whereas in America the bridesmaids walk down the aisle ahead of the bride x

Well I sent my BMs before me, so they had a nice moment of everyone watching them before they turned to see me. I didn't want to go first, have the BMs come behind me and no-one really look at them. Plus going last gave me a few extra seconds to prepare myself

Mine walked in before me- I wanted everyone to see how gorgeous they all looked, and it was nice for my godchildrens' mam and dad to really be able to see them coming down the aisle/ get good pics of them too.

As mentioned I also felt like it gave me just a little more time to calm myself before taking the plunge!

Mine will be going in before me - and will take their time lol. Mainly because not only do i want everyone to see how beautiful they all look but also for our violinsts to play the majority of our song.

I think its a matter of personal prefence though, no right or wrong answer xx

I think it is my preference to have them walk first so I make a grand entrance and get the right part in the music and get as much out of the string quartet as I can, I had however not taken into account I also have a page boy who will walk down the aisle too! Back to the drawing board for me to really think about this. I will also need someone to help with my chapel length train so may need MOH behind me ?.

Just had a really cute thought though, my pageboy is my youngest son who will be 3 and flowergirl is my neice who will be 2 1/2 they could walk together holding hands, followed by my little bridesmaid who will be nearly 5. Then me and then my adult bridesmaids. OOOh I may have found a line up............thank u x

Too late now I've fallen in love with the perfect entrance song and it fits with her first so thats what i'm sticking with!!

I was going with 2 page boys followed by my flower girl (my Daughter) & junior bridesmaid followed by 8 adult bridesmaids & me last. The dress I've fell in love with has a chapel length train though & I'm now wondering who will sort it out for me if they've all gone down the aisle?! I'm also thinking that I'm going to miss seeing my Daughter's little face if I go last.

I don't know what to do now!!

I had my 2 flowergirls (aged 2 and 4) go first, followed by 4 adult bridesmaids walking as 2 pairs and I went last. We weren't sure if the flowergirls would walk down without drama so didn't want me to have walked down and be waiting while the bridesmaids tried to convince the flower girls to go!

The event manager from the venue sorted out my train for me.

Apparently in front is an American thing that has made its way over here. My sister asked me the other day if I would be doing it the British or American way and I said American so that people could see her too!

You might want to consider where your photographer might be and whether he/she will be able to see you with the choice you make !

Mine are all going down before me

I had the BMs walk down the aisle before me. To me, the bride is the star of the show, and if she goes first noone is going to take any notice of how gorgeous the BMs look. I also think the BMs should sort of build up the excitement, and the bride is like the finale walking down the aisle, if you see what I mean!

Apparently having them go first is the American way! To me I wouldn't have had it any other way, I had 5 BMs and a flower girl and it was nice that they all got their moment before I came in.

My mum was shocked that I wanted them to go first and couldn't believe it. She's quite old-fashioned and believes that the bride should walk up the aisle first.

Mine walked behind me. It's how I'd always pictured it and I wouldn't want anyone to have been in between me and H as I walked down the aisle.

Are you marrying in church?

Most vicars (at C of E churches) will request that the bride goes first. Normally following the vicar down the aisle.

Yes I am getting married in a church......i'll have to ask the vicar then......good point! Didn't think about that!!

The two C of E weddings I have been to this year both followed the 'British' format,

I think I'll be asking my bm's to go first. Then, I'll make my way down when they're at the front. Think I'll need a moment with just my dad aswell!

I had my four adult bridesmaids before me to build up my entrance *ego* ;o)

I love the idea of the bridesmaids getting their moment too so think I'll stick with them going first :o)

With having 2 brides, we're going as follows, partners 2 nephews, OH and her dad, man and maid of honour, my godson and his brother, me and my dad, that way we both get our moments, and everyone can coo over the kids, then I get my moment to. (i'm only second as im doing the more 'bridey' dress and it was how I wanted it, OH was happy to go with it :-)
