Bridezilla

Mrsradford2B, 20 September, 2021 at 14:51 Posted on Planning 0 1
Hi ladies. Just wanted some advice on how not to become a raging bridezilla. I never thought about my wedding much just after I got engaged but since lockdowns I've been doing nothing much else but window shopping wedding dresses etc online. Help!

Window shopping is great, not Bridezilla at all. There is a lot that goes in to planning your wedding so it is great to research and look at things, it will help you to really understand what you want. I would suggest you set up a Pinterest board for things you like such as hair, colour themes, dresses and flowers. Add to them and them take some time out before looking again and discussing with your H2B to be sure it is what you both want before you start booking. My top tips to stay grounded are:

Listen to others who have recently got married- you don't have to agree but get ideas from them on venue, timings, things that were important and not. People can be opinionated, so also take it with a pinch, discuss your ideas with your close friends that you know will be honest and supportive.

Be Realistic - Don't look at things that are way out of your budget (set your budget for each element ahead of looking so you know what figures you are playing with). All the additional things you can have like owls flying your rings, fireworks, photo booth, magicians/entertainers, are all great, but only if you can afford them. they are not essential, guests will be happy to have good food and wine and spend time together

Delegate - Get people you trust like parents, MOH and groom to research and collate things for you so you can review when you are ready and avoid overwhelming yourself and stressing out. then have a girls night to review and bounce ideas

Have FUN! The whole point of a wedding is to celebrate you and your grooms love and spend time with loved ones. Try and relax, don't let the small things get in the way and stress you out, As long as you are both happy with how you have planned your day then that is all that counts.

    Good Luck!
