Another fan of mumsnet here. It makes Hitched look like a children's tea party.

Me too PB, it makes them sound like robots to me. "DS1 and 2 are having their circuit boards repaired today..."

I am always too scared to go near mumsnet but I think I will be having a scout around after reading this. AMAZING! Surely it cannot be real though? Who in their right mind would send a note like that to a friend?!?! or an enemy for that matter?

Why would anyone even think that saying this would be a good idea? And in a wedding invite?

Type wedding into the search engine and it pulls up lots of entertaining posts!

Also there is a mini wedding planning bit on there: it's under the fun and games category. People post questions about favours for example and the wedding haters swoop in:

'I'm on a tight budget and don't know what to do about favours, What favours did you have?'

    'None, they're all ***! I don't know why you're bothering!'

    etc etc etc

I think this is a classic case of honesty NOT being the best policy!

However I will admit I'm intrigued to know if the teenagers in question really are that bad...

Oh I wouldn't go. i generally think people should invite who they like, but I cannot fathom why the bride didn't just invite the woman and her husband if she didn't like the kids! I am a bit old-fashioned and think you should invite both halves of a married couple in 90% of circumstances. Not liking teenage kids isn't one of the exceptions. It's just such an insulting little note.

Wow! What a lurvely friend she is by being so honest ;-).

Personaly, I'd just be happy that teenage kids want to mix with adults and not (stereotypically) sit in the corner playing computer games.
